I am thinking of donating to charity in lieu of favours and putting cards on the tables to say we have done this, however i am wondering how much of a donation would be acceptable to give?

I hadnt put favours in the budget but think this might be a nice idea.

Yeah we're thinking of maybe Barnodo's or something. We're currently at about 176 people for the sit down so we're thinking of at least 200 for the charity but hopefully more if we can spare it before the wedding. If not once we can afford a few quid we'll through an extra cupla quid to the charity from the wedding

We are donating €100 to our local hospice and i got cards printed from Vistaprint to lay on the tables telling guests that made a we have made a donation in lieu of favours!

Thanks for all the replies...defo think i will do it now.... was just afraid that we couldnt afford it or if we should give more but I think 200e is perfect instead of favours
