Has anyone had bridesmaids dresses in Venetian gold? I'm hoping to order style number 6613 off Dessy, its a fad grecian style. My BM's tried the dress on in pink but we wanted the gold colour so I ordered the swatch from Dessy before we order the dresses on Houseofbribes. The dress has a satin underlay with chiffon on top. I just ordered the chiffon swatch and I'm thinking it looks really dull, my fiance said it looks like his grannies tights and he's actually right! I know it will look brighter with the satin underneath but I'm still worried, my BM's are unsure too.
The only other colour we'd choose is cameo, but afriad this might be too pale. I'm wearing ivory.
Does anyone have any experience of either Dessy colour? Or if you've time check style 6613 on Dessy and give me your opinions please? I'm a reall dumbass and don't know how to link a picture of the dresses!!!!

The golden colour is nice but obv I cant see what it looks like inreal life, personally I would not go for the Cameo as your dress is Ivory and might look a bit washed out but that is just my opinion after all my dresses are going to be Fushia/Hot pink.

I would go into a dress makers shop and the satin shade underneath it to check if you still don't like it go with your gut

Hey, Just checked our ur dresses was interested to see them cos i got dessy 6611 in sapphire blue and i love them, the gold venetian gold is a lovely colour but the bridesmaids would have to be quite tanned for the dresses to look at their best. Cameo is lovely but and dont take this the wrong way its a very safe but kinda plain colour its a confused colour its not cream or its not ivory its hard to describe i do like it but not for that dress. actually the charcoal grey or posie is fab in that dress. anyway best of luch with what ever you go with. oh and i bought mine from houseofbrides too and i would deffo recommend them - no issues atall!!! xx

Hi, I had my heart set on venetian gold dessy dresses too, had spent ages checking it out online and was going to order online, and when girls tried them on i changed my mind, the colour you see on line is different to actual colour when you see it, i was disappointed when i saw venetian gold, it was more yellowy/mustard colour i thought and not what i had wanted, colours are v different in satin than chiffon too, Cameo was v pale, would be nice if bridesmaid was dark, but looked v pale on one of my bridesmaids who is blond. The colour i chose in dessy matt satin is cappuucino, which is fab on. little bit lighter than you see online. Dont know where you are based but Amarra bridal in monasterevin have a dessy satin venetian gold in stock if you wanted girls to try on first! hope this helps.

Hey T Lady they are the bm dresses I'm having only in the Kiwi colour and ordered them from House of Brides. Won't have them until the New Year though.

I've had a look at all of the chiffon swatches for Dessy and they all look a bit dull without the satin underneath. Have you called into any of the irish stockists to see if they have a dessy dress (any dessy dress) in venetian gold so that you can have a look at the colour. Just tell them what you are after and they might be able to help you. You need to go on the website and go to the contact a stockist section, put in your address and they will find the nearest one to you i.e. all irish stockists and possibly some uk ones. Then you just email them with your query and they will come back to you.

I loved the buttercup colour. Would you go with that? Definitely brighter anyway. I still reckon though the venetian gold would be nice and it might be worth a try contacting a stockist to see.

I'm still so confused! Yes I had considered the charcoal grey, its fab but quite dark. My weddings in July so thought the venetian gold would look warmer. It does look more mustard like someone said. I've agonised over the Dessy website with one of my BM's and we're thinking the cappucino looks the safest bet if the pictures of each colour vary. I phoned afew stockists nearby (I'm in Mayo), and one in Galway has the cameo and a venetian gold satin. My BM's gonna pop in there with our chiffon swatch and see how it looks over the gold satin.
The kiwi does look beautifull too but we kinda wanted a neutral colour, its so hard to choose!

By any chance does anyone have any other colour swatches in any neutral shade that I could borrow to compare? The swatches are dear enough and still don't give you an accurate idea so I'm not ordering 3 or 4 to compare! I'll post in back to you after I see it x

Sorry don't have the swatches I had a look at all of them in a shop and then decided. Maybe you could do that instead?

Ya the shop we were in to try on the dresses originally only had like a booklet of swatches that were so tiny we really couldn't judge!
I'll see how my BM gets on in the shop in Galway, then maybe we'll just have to take a chance and choose a colour!

Mo Zarina in claregalway has a good lot of dessy bm dresses mite be worth calling in for a look if ur bm is heading from mayo to galway that way!! Sorry i dont have any samples i just ordered them and took the chance. I spent ages looking at dresses and colours then just thought F*ck it il just order them and what comes wel go with and they came and i loved them. I agree about the chiffon swatches they dont represent the colours aswell the colours only truely look best with the silky underlay like the dresses have. best of luck xx
