My priest has just called up to my house to say he cant marry us on on proposed day as he didnt realise it was Ash Wens. He said he could do it the day before or after.
The hotel (which is fully paid for) havent rang me back to discuss possible date change. Have no idea what date will be availible or if they will even be willing to let us change.
I am a nervous wreck here, dont know what to do

You poor thing! That is so stressful. But chances are the hotel will have the Tuesday or Thursday free, probably both. Most people still go for a Friday or Saturday I think so its unlikely they will be booked up for both days. If the hotel can't change maybe you could think about either having a civil ceremony on the Wednesday or else getting married in the church Tuesday and having the reception on Wednesday. You could wear your dress twice! I'm sure you will find some way to work it out.

Can't believe the priest let you book Ash Wednesday in the first place.

that's terrible dear- like someone else said- can't believe the priest didn't realise that it was Ash Wednesday before he booked you!

Oh no! That's awful. We got married during Lent this year and the FIRST thing the church (Sacristan) AND the priest said to us was 'When in Lent is that, is it Holy Thursday' cos they knew they wouldn't do the wedding then. Ours was actually a couple of weeks before Easter so it was all grand, but we booked the church 18 months in advance and way back then they made sure that the date was ok. Can't believe they let you book Ash Wednesday and said nothing until now!

You poor thing. Hopefully you'll get either the Tuesday or Thursday and at least you know now before the invitations go out.

Everything is now sorted again for the day after. A thursday which is better for most people any way. Although the reason we picked the Wens was that it was our 9th anniversary, although i am not going to complain after all the drama of last night.

The hotel were amazing to deal with and i was so lucky the following day was availible.

On the upside bridesmaid are wearing purple and the priest said the whole church will be decorated on a purple theme as it will be lent. That was music to my ears. Happy happy happy

thrilled everything worked out for you! You must have been pulling your hair out with worry! Great news with the church decorated in your colours too.
Did you have any difficulty changing your other suppliers were they ok too?

Only singer/church/dj to sort now but that wqas a package so going to buzz him on monday. Photographer will be grand as we have nothing set in stone there.
I havent flowers, hair/make up or cars booked yet. Still dont know which suppliers i am going with.

Thanks everyone If anything its given me a bit of a wake up call on how fast the day is approaching and how unorganised i am. I've done so much research on dresses today and am going to try some on in the next few weeks. So far i havent tried any only looked online. I was hoping to go over to my MOH in manchester in january and buy it there off the rack.
