Actually thinking about it it might be an idea for me to donate to the hospital his parents are attending every month - they were so good to his Dad when he was very ill a few years ago and they really keep good care of them both now, and his uncle and his cousin are attending the same hospital - is that something that you can do to donate to a hospital?

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't turn it down! It's a great idea ej09, that money could go towards life saving equipment for that hospital. Best thing would be to ring them I guess, talk to someone high up like the chief of medecine or something.

Has anyone here made donations on behalf of their guests to the Marie Keating foundation or Action Breast Cancer instead of wedding favours. Just wondering if they do a keepsake to put on the tables.

I want to do this as my Mum had breast cancer five years ago but thank god she's well now.

I think I'll ask my h2b what he thinks and if he agrees say it to his parents and they could maybe ask someone when they have their next appointment

We're donating to our Lady's Children's hospital in Crumlin and they are giving us placecards for each setting. H2B was very sick as a child and spent alot of time in our lady's and i'm kind of hoping it'll build up some good karma for when we hopefully have children of our own!

EJ09, You can donate to hospitals, but make sure your money is going where you think it should go. Fundraiser for h2b mam and friend who had both died, and the money was given to the wards for nicer blankets, comfier chairs etc for getting treatment rather than letting the hospital decide where the money should go.

Do you do a donation of a set amount per person or what way do you do this does anyone know?

Ou donation with our lady's is set, €2 per person would be for placecards and for €4 per person they'll give us pins. We're going to get the cards but round up to the nearest hundred, we can't quite afford the pins!

I've seen it at weddings where there was a keyring from the Irish Heart Foundation with the bride and grooms names on them: thats what hopefully we can do cause my OH dad had a heart transplant years ago. I still have it on my keyring I think its a really nice idea!
