Oh so we are in a final few weeks....eeekk!! and trying to finalise everything. My big worry at the mo is that we can either have the full ballroom or 2/3 of the ballroom. The band want us to have 2/3s as it means that they are already set up before but it also means that our table wont be raised. If we take the full room we can have the table raised but will have to wait an hour after dinner for the band to set up. We are having around 180 at meal and then a total of 200 in the evening. Dont want to be squished in the 2/3 or get lost in the full room Also think i would love to have our table raised as we have a fab fairy backdrop. Oh im in a panic

Have you asked the hotel wedding co-ordinator/functions manager which he/she recommends? They are bound to have seen similar sized weddings in that room before and know which works best. I think at most weddings there is a bit of a wait for the band to set up. Also, if you use the whole room, will your top table be in the same place the band perform? If not maybe they could set up before dinner and be ready to go as soon as the speeches are over. One hotel we looked at insist that bands set up before dinner and recommend only booking local bands for that reason. No need to panic, as long as the food and music are good and the bar is open people will be happy!

Speak to your wedding coordinator!

I know our band are setting up the morning of the wedding, so when we come in it will be all set up, but it won't interfere with the tables or top table.

Talk to your venue's wedding coordinator - we were offered full ballroom or half ballroom and initially we just thought ya the full room is grand but upon thinking about it and with the amount of guests (we are having a small wedding) it was better suited to half the room as it would be much more intimate and cosy where as if we went with full room - it'd look sparse and "Empty" so on advice from our coordinator we are going with the half room.

We have the full room and the wedding co ordinator was helpfull with tips for our numbers. Could have one part of the room and close the second part so when the band arrives they can set up and the doors open for the guests to dance the night away
