Hi Missies,

I was just wondering how far ahead do you need to book dress fittings for? I'm hoping it's just the straps that will need adjusting and it may need to be taken up a bit. Im trying to loose weight so I just don't know what to do.

The lady where I got my dress said she'd get in touch with me six weeks or so before the wedding to arrange my first fitting. Then again, my dress arrived a couple of months ago and I've tried it on and it does fit, hopefully I'll only need the height adjusting when it comes to fitting time.

My dress came in mid September, I'm getting married new years eve. I tried the dress on mid october and they started alterations mid October. I picked it up after final alterations last night with 4 weeks and 3 days to go. Your shop/seamstress will advise.

im having a fitting in january, over a year before the wedding, crazy i know but im having it made along with the bridesmaids ( all 4 of them ) but thats just cos the dressmaker wants to have a idea what im looking for, im planning on loosing weight too but that should only one dress size so at the mosrt it will only need to me taken in a little before the wedding.
