Dublin GAA Team

Postby taz30 » Thu Nov 03, 2011 3:25 pm

Hi all, full of questions todays!! My H2B loves the GAA even to the extent that I think the best day of his life (even over the birth of our son) was the Dubs winning the All Ireland!!!!!!!!! Anyway I know people here have been saying about getting letters/jerseys etc signed by Premiership footballs teams so that has me thinking that I should be able to do something for him as a surprise with GAA??? Any ideas of how to even go about it?

Hi,

I am getting a GAA jersey signed by the county football captain for my Hubby. :cool
It was no problem at all and dead easy !! :bounce
I emailed the PR person for the club and explained what i wanted and why. I got an email reply back within the hour to say it was fine and to email again closer to the time.
I got the PR contact details from the GAA county website.
it will make for a great pressie and I will be presenting it as my speech on the day. The only hard bit is keeping the secret !! :smokin

:bluewave My sister attended a wedding this year were the couple were gaga for the GAA - the B2B had organized both the Hurling and Football Senior Championship Cups (Liam McCarthy & Sam Maguire Cups) we were able to give her my fathers All Star for the day (Under strict security hahaha) and she had loads of other newspaper clippings, GAA paraphernalia, photos etc etc - Not knowing her personally don't know how she got them but think she contacted the GAA county boards and went from there - for all the GAA lads and the groom it was huge to have such coveted cups in the county never mind at the wedding :) Will try and see who she got in touch with but think she did alot herself in relation to all the GAA Stuff.

maybe email the GAA headquarters and ask them can they get a jersey signed by the all ireland winning team or something. For our wedding nearly a year ago my father got the Sam Maguire Cup for it. We had it in the hotel and at the top table at the meal.

That is such a cool idea. Myself & H2B are both GAA mad (him especially). I'd say get in touch with Croke Park and go from there. You might just need to drop in a jersey and you can get him a new one as part of the gift.
