Hi missies,

Long story with my dress but basically she wanted me to take it home with more than a year to go to my wedding so I point blank refused. I am ringing to book my first fitting but don't want to do it too early as she will want me to take the dress home with me. Typically how long before the wedding should I have the first fitting. It's six months on Saturday until the wedding day.

My dress is in since late December, getting married 1st of June and have 1st fitting in April

I had my first fitting 5 weeks before my wedding.
I am collecting it 7 days before the wedding, after alterations are completed and it fits perfect

im not getting married till next May found perfect dress few weeks ago and going to see it tonight with bridesmaids and pay deposit but i wont be takin it out of shop until next year

Make sure you ask about alterations and if this is included as a few brides have been caught out with it

No I'm fine on that front I have all that sorted. My alterations weren't included but they have given me a price list which is approx. 100euro additionally for fittings and alterations.

My wedding is in 6 weeks. Rang up the shop the week before last and the said I'll have my 1st fitting about 5-6 weeks before. So this week or next week for me, hopefully.

My dress is in since before Christmas but I haven't gone in to see it yet. Going for a fitting this weekend but not getting alterations done until 8 weeks before the wedding. Just want to set my mind at ease that I still love it and make sure it's the right colour etc. Can't wait!! I'm sure it'll be the same for you. They shouldn't be pushing you to take it home. With oliveoyl,they shouldn't be forcing you to take it home.The shop where i bought mine are holding my dress,my bm's dresses and my mams outfit right up till the wedding.

Hey hun My dress is in since november but just had my first fitting 2 weeks ago 12 wks before wedding leaving next one until 5 wks before wedding then collect it week before wedding.

When i first bought my dress from shop in galway they had someone to do the alterations there now they dont so dress came is last week......finally after a lot of ringing and im going down to try it on monday dunno what il do if it needs to be altered i dont know anyone they can recommend someone but she is quite far away.....wedding looming.....eeeeekkkkk
