Are you getting married in church?

Bear in mind that churches are always nicely decorated with flowers anyway so you won't need much extra. I ordered a unity arrangement and was charged for it, but it never showed up on the day. We searched high and low for it. I had my candles on a stand instead, which she charged me 20 euros for the pleasure of. She basically told me out of all the things I could not forget, I MUST HAVE a unity arrangement. So I went with it. I don't know what went wrong on the day but she arrange the candles on a stand. And what I am saying is, there was no difference!!!! My photos don't look any less perfect for not having a flower arrangement, so you could skip that too.

For mens buttonholes go for carnations instead of roses. There's about 7 euros difference in price. My pageboys had carnations because they seem to be more durable than a rose. They looked every bit as nice as the roses, especially when the family photos were over and the grooms buttonhole fell apart!

Apart from bouquets, buttonholes and presentation bouquet, if I was to do it all again I wouldn't go for any of the bells and whistles.

:happywave I'm just home after booking my flowers. My florist recommended gerbera's for bm's as they're a cheaper option but still a beautiful flower and i'm getting an orchid bouquet. My advice would be to go to some wedding fairs and see whats on display, and to see what you like.I found the girl i wanted to use at a wedding fayre last weekend and she has been so helpful.I really hadn't a clue when it came to flowers and she has really put me right..hope this helps.

If you are looking to save money, then stay away from expensive flowers such as orchids and lillies. Also by not giving Thank You bouquets to the 2 mams, this can help save you a fair amount.

Carnations in your bouquets will also cut out a lot of costs, but still look stunning. I have attached a photo of a recent brides bouquet that chose to use only carnations.

Our standard wedding packages are all based on the options of roses and/or Gerbera for the entire wedding party, and I also offer a hire package for the church to save on the expense of use all fresh flowers in the church.

Have a read of a post I created last year for this:
vendors-suppliers/tips-on-saving-money-on-wedding-flowers-t5404.html?hilit=saving
Whatever you do, even if on a small budget, don't settle for inferior quality flowers. And the most important thing, is spend the money on your bouquets, even if that means having no flowers in the church, your bouquet is as important as your dress in visual terms. HTH.
