Hi Mysterious,

Over the years, we played at many weddings where the couple had hired ‘Weddings by Franc’. However, we don’t come across them very often now...a sign of the times I suppose. From what I’ve seen, his team seem to run around the place for the day rather than man himself! For what it’s worth, as a supplier, I didn’t notice much of a difference between receptions that were ‘Franc’d’ and those that weren’t. (Although, I’m sure the guests would appreciate the small touches more the band!!)

You might already know that he gives talks at various wedding fairs around the country and I’m sure he gives plenty of good tips.

All the best,
Jonathan

:bluewave and welcome to the site - First off don't want to come across as knocking this Frank fella or indeed anyone who is or had a Frank wedding - but I presume you are on about the guy on TV? - I do agree with above poster as in from what I have heard it's not exactly the man himself doing it but his minions  A local wedding (my sister was at it and I heard back from her) had the Frank Factor and basically for quite a hefty priced "Consultation" (they talked thousands!!) all they got was a meeting with himself and he told the bride2be ideas, tips, themes and places/suppliers to go get elements from to create the "idea/theme" and from what I understand that was it - for a larger price you could get franks team to dress it up. So although what they did was a bit different it wasn't overly fantastic (this is what I heard) I did see a number of photos of the ballroom and to be honest not much different from other weddings I was at that would have just got the hotel to do their own decorating!

Obviously if they had a big budget then maybe it would have been more wow - but lets face it and something to remember what you see on TV always looks better and Frank is working with a large "TV" Budget which I'm sure also includes alot of product placement so he'd be getting alot lot more out of any "budget" they state on the show compared to real life - as I said not knocking him and apologies in advance but just thought I write what i heard.

I think even if I had the readies, I wouldn't want my wedding to be "Franked". That is just my personal choice. I've watched all the tv series, and he has done some good work, or at least his team have, but nothing would be to my taste. I think only me and my h2b can put OUR mark on OUR wedding. Not some stranger who has a consultation with us. For that reason, even if I had unlimited budget, I'd still choose to do it all myself. As I have really enjoyed it.

You should probably trust yourself Mysterious.......Franc is probably brilliant but at the end of the day you know your taste better than anyone else. Also with all the websites around these days there is loads of stuff you can get your hands on and you will do a great job......and it's probably not half as 'dungy' as you think enyway!! Best of luck with it!

Most hotel function rooms speak for htemselves and hotels are providing centre pieces etc now.

I agree with Tanya as in most cases Hotels are decorating their function rooms for a wedding to a very high standard nowadays already without the extra expense of bringing in an event crowd again unless you have the funds and a specific theme in mind but we've seen our venue set up by themselves and fell in love with the place with a huge choice on centre pieces, chair covers and bows, Floral Displays, Lighting backdrops etc etc so could choose to suit your own style/colour theme and all included in the price!

As well as they providing a spectacular setting for your wedding the hotel see it as a chance to advertise so to speak so by providing a high standard of decoration throughout they are putting their services and venue on show as their would be a certain percentage of wedding guests as future prospective clients so it is in their own interest to have the place looking it's best. The Venue we chose has been in the business for years and it is their industry so am letting them handle all that - obviously we'll choose a color and oversee a couple of things but they know what they do best so leave them at it I say:)
