Re: Having a MELTDOWN help !!!
Maybe ring the HSE registrar's office again and see if they can fit you in for wedding at the registry office instead of the hotel - it would be quicker for them.
You cannot have a Catholic wedding in a hotel, only in a church. So if you find a priest to marry you it will have to be in Church. Not sure about various Protestant denominations but I think they only do churches too. I think the Humanist celebrants are flexible about the venue and ceremony so look into that too.
There is a list of registered celebrants here. http://www.groireland.ie/getting_married.htm#section2
Maybe it would be worth talking to your hotel to see if they can change the date for you if you cannot find a celebrant for that day.
Best of luck and let us know how you get on.

Yes that's true but the preist can do the ceremony without the mass part. So that might be an option??
I have no clue about civil ceremonys tbh, sorry.

Our priest said he definitely wouldn't perform a wedding outside the catholic church (even though we are not having mass either), and our priest is the most flexible priest I have ever met. He said it just isn't allowed. But perhaps you could go for the registry office idea, get married there with just your family and then onto the reception afterwards?
