Hi Hailey,
Would definitely recommend Kenmare for a hen - was there for my friends and we had two brilliant nights out! Wouldnt be so keen on Killarney as it has loads and loads of hens each weekend - just wouldnt be for me personally! Was also at a hen in Waterford city recently - we went as part of a package and it was a bit of a disaster, eventhough we did have a good night out overall. I can PM you if you want more info on that one!

ya that's a bit of a hard one all right. does depend on personal taste and where people are coming from. i haven't been to many hens myself so can't really say where is good to go. maybe think of places you been out with friends that you enjoyed. ive picked my place based on the fond memories ive had with h2b and lucky ive my friend who is from the town who is kinda like my "co-ordinator" for my hens as her partner works in the restaurant business and knows people who works in clubs etc so they going to help to find good places to go to.

I dont know what we are doing for my hen but when I organised my sisters we went to Galway and had a brill time! The main thing I found great was having everything pre booked, like meals and even vip areas in a nightclub saved a lot of hassle of people walking around undecided. We went to an outdor adventure centre and horse riding another day but there are loads of other things you can do like cocktail making classes. Something I was thinking about for mine was the murder mystery weekends but Ill have to do some more research. Or how about one day in a spa adn then another more active day.

Take a peek at the funfactory.ie and henparty.ie they suggest some places around Ireland but I just googled loads of things to do around galway and picked and choose what activities I thought my sis would love.

Kenmare sounds good too will check out some places there. Am also thinking of cork just coz it's only an hour way with the motorway and ive never been out there before!

I'd love Kenmare or Dingle for mine, but the wedding is in Kenmare and one of my close friends went there and I'm having my wedding in the same hotel she had so I don't want her thinking I'm copying here! I'm thinking of Cape Clear or Portmagee at the minute, rent a house and have some fun. We did that for my cousin and it was such a lovely time. I'm not a big hen person, once we have a nice meal and some drinks with a fun activity thrown in I won't mind.

What you have to remember is people are budgeting really tightly these days and you don't want to be left with half of the girls not going because they can't afford it.
This might sound cheap but I had my hen last year at home!
I have to say it was a brilliant night, I had a themed 70's night because that's when I was born and I have to say the girls didn't let me down, they all dressed in the 70s style, even those who didn't have a costume wore maxi dresses and did there hair in 70s styles etc so everyone looked the part.

I put on a buffet of salad, didn't cost too much and I was still watching the waistline obviously so that helped! Everyone brought their own bottles with them and I bought a few bits for cocktails which was good craic.

We had karaoke, music and dancing and lots of party games and the best part about it was we didn't have any axses following us around trying to get in on the action. It was purely a girls night. The games were great fun, there was a mr and mrs type game, some play dough (say no more) and a competition to dress me and my matron of honour using toilet roll, ribbons and general. It's of crap. And I went to the pound shop and bought plastic tiaras and feather boas etc for everyone as prizes.

Would recommend as everyone's inhibitions are left outside because your in a comfortable environment and you can really do what you want in your own home whereas out in a pub or restaraunt you can't really let go.

Anyway, enjoy it whatever you decide.

my MOH was in total charge of mine and we going to mayo for murder mystery weekend!Im so excited! it is quite expensive tho 170 each before travel) so only 10 of us (mainly bridal party and immediate family) going that weekend and then 2 weeks later when h2b on stag having a night in my house for everyone. Will be a self styled cocktail night. I am having a cocktail served to everyone at speeches for toasts in wedding so on this night we will collectively decide(after making and tasting a few) what cocktail will be served and then name it!

Well I am just back from my hen weekend and had the best time EVER!! We went to Carrick on Shannon and I would recommend it to anyone. We stayed in the Landmark Hotel and the staff were just so accommodating and friendly. We went into town the first night and went to Murtaghs pub and then back to 360 nightclub. The next day we went into Lough Key Forest Park and took part in the Boda Borg which is basically like a big "crystal maze" type of thing with loads of different tasks, some physical and mental ones! it was great craic and we had split up into teams so there was serious competitiveness!! That night the hotel decorated a private room for us (nearly looked like a wedding!) and we had dinner in there - there was 32 of us so was a nice size and a way for us all to be together! The girls did the Mr & Mrs quiz and I did very well and then everyone was asked to bring a present that reminded them of a funny story of me - how embarrassing but just loads of brilliant memories! My sister also did a photobook for me which was just brilliant and everyone had put a message in it beside a picture of them with me throughout the years. All in all it was amazing and was great value as well! Only a few weeks now until the big day!
