honeymoon suggestions needed!

Postby ms-to-mrs » Thu Oct 13, 2011 4:17 pm

Hi missies, :happywave

I'm totally lost, we have no idea where to go on honeymoon.

Open to all suggestions cos I dont have a clue anymore. We haven't travelled alot, we've been to italy and Egypt so lots of places left. We want to go for two weeks though so not sure how far we can make the budget of €2500 stretch

Any ideas on where to go would be great.

We are going to Orlando for 2 weeks hun and renting a private villa. (the villa is approx €700 per week) Ours is just over €3000 total but we got park tickets and Discovery Cove tickets included in the price so could you not maybe go for a week or 10 days instead and maybe it'd be more affordable? We booked ours in American Holidays on Duke St. in Dublin 2. Just off Grafton St. They were very helpful so if you went in there and told them your budget I reckon they could tailor a package to suit you.

Thanks RoctheFroc, we were looking at florida. it's the spending money that will catch us as well.
We had originaly a higher budget and had planned on florida for a wk then a cruise but H2b's job will be gone at the end of March so we had to rethink things.

I know, its a pain in the ass, nobodys job is secure these days. You cant plan for anything ! Hope you get something you like, I'm sure you will hun cuz €2500 is still alot of money!. If it helps, we are not having our honeymoon straight after the wedding because we wanted to get the sun but also take the heat off ourselves a bit in terms of money. We have an extra 4 months to save for the honeymoon after the wedding. Did you think of doing that?

:bluewave First off sorry to hear of your plans being ruined/changed especially how you had been looking forward to it so much. Also sorry to hear of your H2B's job loss.
With a budget of €2500 I'm sure if you find a good travel agent (or the patience to search online) that you will find a fantastic honeymoon destination/package within your new limits.

On other destinations why not look at maybe some of the new eastern european destinations (Not over populated so not commercial like some resorts) or what about ST. LUCIA get lots of sun, sand and.....sea - granted you are not floating on it but you can relax by it's edge with a cocktail in hand. :D

I do hope you find something. Best of luck with it and your travel plans and more importantly than your honeymoon (It would be for me) I hope all works out for your H2B and his search for a new job.

Just an Idea (we are bringing our daughter with us she will be a little over 3yrs old) but we decided to go ALL INCLUSIVE. As we had budgeted a honeymoon by ourselves so now with our little woman coming along we us we decided to go all inclusive. The Dominican Republic are offering fantastic All Inclusive deals. I found a really helpfull rep Sinead (by email) in Tropicasky.ie (am I allowed mention the company, Claire? just remove if not :( )
So we figured with the three of us we could afford to spend a little more than budgeted due to the deal. It includes all meals, drinks alco n non alco, mini bar in the room, entertainment night n day. Everything that is required!
Get some brouchures and enjoy!!!

we booked ours through travel councellers Mandy. Very good with prices. You tell her your budget where you have not gone and where yous would like to go and she would put something together for you.

We got:
Flights and Acc
New York 2 nights in the Ramada New Yorker
San Francisco 3 nights in the Nikko Hotel and
Las Vegas for 6 nights in Planet Hollywood
for €2200 altogether
