When you were choosing your venue did you consider getting married at home and then choose Dublin for some reason, maybe cause it was easier to organise? Or is it a sudden thing that you want to have the wedding back home? Its still ages to your wedding so you might have time to change if you really want. What does your H2B think?

H2b is not keen on Tipperary as his family will be travelling from England and feels it would be too difficult for them to travel to tipp. I think at the start that was my reasoning for wanting Dublin aswell and wanted h2b to be happy about where we were getting married. Now all of a sudden I've just realised I won't be getting married from the home I grew up in and not sure about. I think I'm just confused cos don't know where it came from and I love our venue!!

I dont think there's any easy answer to this. If you really want to get married at home its totally do-able, no reason H2B's family cannot hire cars or get a train to Tipp. If there's lots of them you could think about hiring a mini-bus to meet them at the airport. My H2B's family will be traveling from Dublin/Meath/Monaghan to the very north of Donegal for our wedding and they all seem fine with it. And there aren't even any trains up here! On the other hand, you could go home to Tipp for a few days before the wedding and then travel to Dublin with your family. Maybe have them stay in your house in Dublin with you night before and send your H2B off to stay elsewhere.

Maybe have a look at some venues in Tipp and see if you like any as much as your Dublin one. And take into account where your own family and friends are travelling from. Maybe its as difficult for them to go to Dublin as your fiance's family to go to Tipp.

I Think you and your H2B really need to sit down and talk about it. Cause if you really are not happy then nothing will change your mind. Get a few prices together for transport from the airport to tipp. Balance the pros and cons and then make your decision. Yous have loads of time but the longer you leave it it might be harder to get your deposit back.

Its really something ye need to talk about, and soon. really, so may parts of tipp are well served by trains from dublin or get your h2bs family 2fly in to shannon, cork or waterford if you want2get married in tipp. i know you want to be considerate of the guests travelling long distances but just like your family, who are willing to travel to dublin2be part of your day im sure his family will travel where ever to be part of his big day.

With 16 months to go you do have plenty of time to change your venue if that's what you choose to do, so I wouldn't worry about that bit. As the other girls have said, you definitely need to discuss it with your h2b. I live in England with my h2b and I'm from south Co. Kildare. Half of the wedding guests will be travelling from England, with a couple from some very far away places - Dubai and Australia. A few people so far have decided to use our wedding as an excuse to holiday in Ireland. If you chat to your h2b and decide to change to Tipperary, you may well have guests being delighted and taking advantage like ours. Consider whether you'd prefer to be getting ready in your home place and going to your venue from there more than what you have already decided. If you can't imagine it not being in your home place then you have your answer as to what you truly want. Then it's a matter of a chat with your h2b to explain and deciding together. You only get married once, so it's worth it being the way you want it to be. Best of luck deciding.
