First met h2b 13 years ago this week, it was Friday the 13th (lucky for some eh!)
Anyway we met at a 21st party, I was 19, he was 16. He did the whole Joey "how you doin?" thing and put his arm around me. We had a snog that night but to be honest I thought he was waaayyyy to young for me. We were to meet again the day after but I stood him up . I know it was a horrible thing to do but I was finished a year in college and he was going into 5th year in school.

Well the night I stood him up I got a phone call, it was h2b saying "so are you gonna met me or what". It was so unexpected and I was so flustered that I agreed and it was the best thing I ever did. We didn't spend a day apart for the entire summer and we were best friends within a month. We talked about everything and anything and we both knew straight away that we had met our solemate

Cheeky Chick that is a lovely story! I would have been the same about the ages but as we get older the age difference doesnt really matter at all! Good job you met up with him or your might have missed your chance!

It did help that he looked older and I looked younger than we were. And we did lie to our parents for the first 6 months too .

I guess when you are meant to be age doesn't really matter. I can't wait to be his wife

Cheeky Chick we were kinda the same except H2B is older than me by 7.5 years!! Didnt go down too well at the start but once my family got to know him sure they think the sun shines outta him now!! As long as you're happy then age doesnt matter!

Age doesn't matter - my h2b is three and a half years older than me - which is nothing now - but I'd say if we met when i was younger i would have thought there was a big gap between us

There is only a few months in age between him and my sister and i always thought she was a lot older than me when i was younger

This thread is so sweet - just read everyones stories and they are all so different and colourful!

I met my h2b on a last minute night out 8 years ago. He was living in London at the time and had just came home to meet up with his friends and go on holidays with them. I met him on Thursday 8th August 2002 and he had just gotten back from Ibiza on the Wednesday. He went out with two of his friends cause his best friend was trying to get back together with his ex and, as he has since told me, he totally didn't want to be there - until he saw me LOL! We spent all night talking and exchanged numbers before he went home to get a lift to Dublin Airport, his flight was at like 6am or something. I said that he totally wouldn't text me and went home to bed - when I woke up I had a message saying "Told ya I'd text haha" and it went from there. He gave up his job and moved home to Ireland to be with me.
When a lot of our friends started to get engaged and married in the last few years he used to always say "Don't you go getting your hopes up now!" Ha ha! Then in February 2009 he booked a holiday to my FAVOURITE place on earth - yup, ya guessed it - Walt Disney World in Orlando! Brings out the kid in everyone! Our first day there while in Magic Kingdom he wanted to get a professional pic done in the rose garden outside Cinderella's Castle - I jumped at the chance cause my h2b is very camera shy! So while I was posing (this pic was gonna be framed!!) he was pulling a box out of his pocket which I didn't see for a bit - I noticed strangers had started to gather round - then I saw it and burst out crying! Talk about shock - after literally years of saying marriage was not on the cards I had resigned myself to it never happening with us! Best holiday of my life!

Loved reading all the stories girls, soo true that age doesnt matter, h2b is 8 years older than me! Caused a bit of bother at the beginning as I was 18 (a few months before I turned 19) and he was 26 going on 27. But completly irrelevant now, no1 notices or thinks of it, luckily he doesnt look his age!

I met h2b when i was on a hen night. totally not expecting it.... i was out with the girls was not expecting to find a fella, i was enjoying life as a single girl. but as i walked around the nightclub a scarf came over my head and i was pulled back and i was told "i'm not letting you go until i get a kiss..!!" i turned round and thought to myself you're not bad looking so i gave him a kiss and 4 years later he proposes... Happy out...

Age is only a number my husband is 32 and I'm 25 but no one has even noticed the age difference. Once it doesn't bother you who cares what anyone else thinks

Ah girls we thought no1 noticed the age difference in us till we were in the airport going on holidays last year. H2B went on through the security check but of course I sent off the beepers! I had no make up on and hair was in a ponytail. (it was about 5am!) The woman goes to me "is it OK if I search you", I said yeah grand, she said what age are you? I said 26...she nearly fainted! She said I had to ask you cause I thought you were about 16 and if you're underage we need adult consent. I nearly wet myself laughing, what must they have thought when they seen me and him coming along holding hands!!!
