Is this too much for red carpet?

Postby mrswtobe » Wed Jul 06, 2011 12:15 pm

Hey missies,

Decided to get a red carpet for the church aswell as the entrance to hotel. It may seem extreme to some but it is something I always wanted and I decided to go for it.

I got a quote for €165 and am considering booking it. Did anyone else get a red carpet for church and if so does my quote seem like a good quote?

All help appreciated.

You could do a DIY version for alot cheaper!

Either Hickeys / a carpet shop and do it yourself!
I think thats quite expensive! My hotel included that as standard!! FREE!!

After-all its just carpet HIRE, maybe its just me though!
My aunt carpeted her hall stairs and landing for under €200, she keeps that obviously and that included them fitting it!!

If it is from a company who is reputable and has the appropriate insurance (very important when hiring carpets) then no, it is actually an OK price. Red carpets are usually a 2 person setup and remember, if it's not local to the company, the people have to hang around until after the ceremony to collect it. From setup to take away, you could be talking 4 hours per person, so putting it into context, it's not expensive, no. HTH.

That's a great price, just make sure like I said, that they have insurance, I know a lot of insurance companies won't even cover this, so make sure that your supplier is insured, as it's easy to trip over carpet that isn't fixed down.

I guess when you break it down as Giselle has its not that bad . . . . although the €100 is brilliant!
I think I would go with that :P

We offer a red carpet hire service. It runs from the church door to the altar. It is true that from the time the carpet is delivered to the church and rolled out down the aisle to the time the ceremony ends takes approximately 3 hours. It also takes over an hour to clean. Not only does it look well inside a church, it keeps your wedding dress clean. Anything up to €200 is a fair price for this service.

I think its too much - I got offered mine free by my hotel - the hotel had 2 and said its no problem to tak eone for the church. several car companies I had contacted also said they would provide a free carpet so it might be worth asking around

Ask your hotel, they may have a spare one, also ask your chauffeur they may have an extra one.
