Kids on the Wedding Day

Postby sam-4-bob » Tue Sep 27, 2011 7:47 pm

Hey ladies so hoping you can help!!

Have never been to a wedding where the bride/groom have a child. Our little man will be three and a half on the wedding day. The night before the wedding he will be staying with me in my parents and H2B is staying at his mams and our soon never sleeps properly out there EVER!!!! Morning of the wedding he will just be pottering around the house , there will be plenty to keep him entertained.

The bit Im worried about is after the ceremony. Obviously we will be meeting/greeting, having photos taken etc. Who do I ask to keep an eye on him, I dont want to have him "tie" somebody down for the day . He will be sitting with us for the meal, but bathroom breaks and stuff, I can hardly keep bringing him in and out in my dress ?????

Also the night of the wedding I am drawing blanks about who will take him . All family and friends who I trust to mind him will be at the wedding !!!!!!!!!!!!

When my brother was getting married last year, his son was around the same age - just be aware it can be a very stressful day for small kids, the hype, the fancy clothes - we took my nephew to a playground after the dinner it really helped break the day for him. All the aunties and the grannies on both sides whipped around and took turns to look after him and his little sister during the day and when they went to bed in the one of the grannies bedroom we all did an hour shift (great for having a sit down from the dancing and repairing the make-up!)
It worked out okay but I think catlvscraig's pal had the right idea.

In regard to at the wedding maybe if you have a niece or nephew to look after him. After meal maybe the hotel could give you the name of a good babysitter.
