Marriage Registration Completed

Postby BluefishJD » Mon Oct 10, 2011 1:43 pm

:bounce :bounce :bounce As of 10.30am this morning we have now registered our marriage :bounce :bounce :bounce - so real now...no turning back  Only messing, but what a great feeling having all the paperwork and everything sorted and a step closer to the big day!! Now we just have to get our ass's in gear and deliver the ramaining Wedding Invites another thing to look forward to once they are all out :bounce :bounce :bounce

Just a bit of advice for those who have yet to register - Prepare, Prepare, Prepare - yer one was impressed we had our form filled out (She commented on how many don't do it until they are at her desk) and everything on the checklist photocopied and ready to go and made the process much quicker/easier - we were in and out within 20mins. :D

Yes it's a good feeling. It's like 'well we're set to go now it's just a matter of waiting'. The flowers and frills don't matter anymore, once you get that piece of paper you realise that is all that matters. Hope you mark it in some way.

:bluewave Lorr01 - the form we got was posted to us by the Registry Office when we made our appointment - the letter came with a cover letter, a checklist of what we needed and then the form - I have had a quick search and can't see it anywhere to be downloaded off a website but will have a better look now - so I presume it's something the office sends out once you have made your appointment - also your office may not bother with the form as all i can see that it was used for was for the woman in the office to fill in the details on her computer without having to ask us everything so maybe your registry office just asks you this in person - basically the form just asked our names / address / wedding ceremony choice / witnesses names and dates of birth / priests details and our contact details so as I said they might just send it to speed up the process as she just types that info in while we were there rather than asking us to go through everything and spell everything out so as I said maybe check with your office as they might just do it when you arrive rather than send you out a form to have these details wrote down and ready to go - I do admit though it did speed things up as we were in and out within 25 mins - hope this helps :D And I will see if I can find one online.

Thanks very much for that your very good. The more reading I'm doing the more frustrated I'm getting. Could you assist me in the question I have below also and kill 2 birds with the 1 stone!!

Hello I hope Someone can help me. We are getting married in November 2012.
We are going to see our priest in jan 2012 for chat for the 1st time

I have booked our pre marriage course for end jan 2012 to get it done and over with.

Can I also book our wedding registration with the local registrar to get that out of the way also or is end Jan 2012 to early when the wedding not till nov 2012.??
Any help I would appreciate!

Do I have to get any documents from the priest to bring with me to registrar the marriage as we have the normal checklist requirements ready.?? (passports utility bills birth Certs etc)

Thanks very much
