from the second we got engaged ... every single decesion had been nit picked!!!! ahhhhh it drives me mad !!!! i just cant wait for the day to come now - ive had enough of it - everyone sticking their nose it !!!

Wow I just think fair play to you and other women like you that have to put up with so much nit picking and interference from mothers and MIL, I think ye have great patience - thankfully as we are planing and paying for our wedding ourselves we don't have any of these issues, there was a little interest or should I say a few eyebrows raised when we were at the guestlist stage (which has been kept very small and to only people we would like to share our day with - we are very much in agreement that we ain't inviting people for the sake of it) but we quickly and strongly stood our ground as in not their wedding it's ours and this has lead to a great easy going planning process with no interfering input:) Also the MIL doesn't live in Ireland but doubt she'd be anything but helpful if she did live here. Hope all pans out OK and you might just have to let it in one ear and out the other and just let them feel they have input?

I hear ya Pink!!! It's mad. We just have to let it go over our heads. I am just hoping she chills out on the day cuz I do not want her to the cause of me being stressed. She is the only thing that has stressed me out ! She even gives off to me for talking too much about the wedding saying "You will tire yourself out stop talking about the wedding, get H2B to do x, y and z, i would say you do everything for him" blah blah blah blah

Guys, we are paying for our own wedding too. It's mind boggling the amount of people who will have an opinion on what you are doing for your wedding though. And that's not either set of parents

We are getting married on the 13th April 2012 and no-one knows yet.

so far, we have agreed the Venue, Solominiser, food, wine and guest list - the only thing we have left to do is get our clothes.

We are not going to tell anyone until January/February time when it will be far too late to change anythin

haha girls sum funny comments here!!my mam is tryin2 take over completly!!!she thinks its her wedding haha!!!she offered to pay for my flowers but everytime i get a price shes like 'oh dats dear we can do better' now she wants us to do flower class n make em ourselves i jus laugh it off n do my own thing!!!shes bonkers!!!
