prayers of the faithful - suggestions needed

Postby ms-to-mrs » Thu Nov 10, 2011 1:27 pm

Hi missies,

I'm hoping you can help me, I need one more prayer of the faithful and I'm not sure what to put in. I though maybe to pray for people in these hard times due to the recession etc but I'm useless at making things up. I borrowed the ones below from other mass booklets. So far I have

1. We pray that the love of xxx and xxx may grow deeper each day and may that love strengthen and comfort them on their journey through life together. That they and all married couples may always cherish their special love by being each others best friends and partners.
Lord hear us.
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

2. For the parents of xxx and xxx, for their friends and all who have helped them to become husband and wife.
Lord hear us.
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

3. Lord, let us pray for our departed relatives, especially xxx’s mother Mary and xxx’s father Martin. We know they are with us today in spirit, and for all our family members gone before us may they rest in Peace with the Lord
Lord hear us
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

Lord hear us.
Lord Graciously hear us.

For the parents of __________ and _________, for their families, friends and for all who have helped them to become husband and wife.
Lord hear us.
Lord graciously hear us.

For the gifts of life and good health which we so often take for granted. May we always appreciate these gifts and may they bring us closer to God.
Lord hear us.
Lord graciously hear us.

For our community and our families who welcome Christ into their lives, that we learn to receive Him in the poor and those lacking hope in the world.
Lord etc.

For married couples everywhere. That their lives will be an example to the world of faith, hope and love.
Lord etc.

For those dear to us who are no longer in our presence, that God will one day unite us again in the joys of our eternal home.
Lord etc.

For all who are victims of injustice, and for those deprived of love and affection.
Lord etc.

That the Lord may bless the world with his peace and the protection of his love.
Lord etc.

Lord, bring us closer to You through prayer and Holy Communion. Bless our Pope, Benedict, and you Church. Give strength and guidance to Your Holy Family.
Lord etc.

Lord Jesus Christ, you suffered the agony of the Cross, comfort all those who suffer in life in Your Holy Name. Bless the sick, the poor and those in conflict throughout our world.
Lord etc.

May the grace given to ____________ and ____________ in this Sacrament of Marriage be always active in them. May it inspire them when life seems dull and strengthen them in times of trial. May it give them understanding in moments of tension, and fill them with gratitude when all goes well.
Lord etc.

By this marriage our two families have been united. May all of us, and particularly the parents of ___________ and ____________ increase in affection for one another and find in one another a source of help and strength.
Lord etc.

In the love of husband and wife, God shows us a wonderful reflection of His own eternal love. Today ___________ and __________ have dedicated themselves to one another in unending love. They will share with one another all that life brings. Let us ask God to bless them in the years ahead, and to be with them in all the circumstances of their marriage.
Lord etc.

On this happy day let us remember all our friends and relatives who may be preparing for marriage or who are married. May their lives be filled with fidelity and love.
Lord etc.

For those who may feel lost or alone,
who are unfortunate enough to not have a home.
for those who have been affected by the recession,
for those who are sick, down and blue.
we take a moment to pray for you.

I used most of the ones on the getting married template which I think are the same as some of the ones posted above so sorry for any repeats

Fr X: Let us pray, now, for X and X, for married people everywhere, for the Church and for the world.

For X and X, that their life together will be filled with happiness and love, That they may always be true friends to each other. That together they will face the challenges of life. May their home be one filled with love. Bless them on their journey through life.

Lord hear us.
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

Let us pray for the family and friends of X and X. We thank them for their support and kindness in helping them prepare for their special day.

Lord hear us.
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

That the Lord may bless the world with his peace and the protection of his love.

Lord hear us.
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

We thank you Lord for all that we have and we pray for the poor and suffering people of this world.

Lord hear us.
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

For all who are victims of injustice, for the homeless, and for those deprived of love and affection.

Lord hear us.
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

For married couples and families everywhere that their lives will be an example to the world of unity and love.

Lord hear us.
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

For those who mourn while we are rejoicing, that in their suffering and loneliness they may experience the strength of God's support.

Lord hear us.
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

For the faithful departed and especially for those whom we, ourselves, have loved including our grandparents, our friend X and X’s Uncle X, that God will one day unite us again in the joys of our eternal home.

Lord hear us.
All: Lord Graciously Hear us.

Fr X: God our Father, you are the creator of all that is good. Listen to these, our prayers, which we make with trust in Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord.
All: Amen
