we were thinking of doing ours in Esker, seems to get good reviews, and think the idea is sweet, no harm to value what you have, its just over 200 euro, but gets great reviews, but we'll see how the funds are, think the mass is one thing in the whole day that really to spend 200 out of your total budget isnt too much to ask, though really thinking of it because of the reviews on line .....

Don't worry about living together or having kids, I think everybody at our course was co-habiting years and probably 60% already had kids. I wouldn't think it's a big deal these days.

We're doing an accord one and it's €120. I looked it up and the one in the town we are getting married is €200 so I checked 20 mins down the road and it's €80 less! More populated areas are €150-€200 while less populated counties are €120. I was very annoyed about that. Not very Christian in my opinion.

We did ours two weeks ago. Some of the sections were a bit unnecessary but others eg having a married couple describe their own high and low points in the marriage was quite interesting. Also it amazing how many couples seem not to have discussed plans to have (or not to have!) children.

We did ours at All Hallows in Drumcondra, which cost 150 quid. I have to say, it was much better than we expected (we were dreading it too!). There was no group work or anything awful like that. Pretty painless!

We did an MCRS pre-marriage course and it was brilliant because it lasted 50 minutes!!! They sent us out forms to fill in on each other and then we went to them for a meeting with just us and the councillor- it was supposed to last 3 hours! It's expensive mind- 280 euro! But well worth it cos it's so short! You'd want to check with your priest first though to make sure he'll accept it. Just tell him it's 1 to 1 and they seem to happy with that. A lot of people we know have done it since us.

We did ours in esker and would highly recommend it. It's a great break for 2 days in a really peaceful place. They facilitate couples to discuss issues that ye may not have brought up before but are really important (however you don't give any personal info to the people there, that's all private to the couple). We still talk about what we covered there and I think it will remain with us throughout our marraige and that's really what a course like that should do,.. and we had a bit of craic in the evenings aswell so go with an open attitude and you will definitely benefit from the experience:)
