Robbery on day of wedding!!!!

Postby MrsV2b » Sat Nov 12, 2011 7:39 pm

Hey Girls

Our local church was broken into yesterday during a wedding, several cars had windscreens broken and bags, phones and cards etc. taken !

Its awful but unfortunatly these are the times we are living in.Just wanted to give a heads up cos I would abs hate to hear of it happening to another couple!

Alot of local churches have been targetted here lately and obviously these guys have no morals,be it a wedding or a funeral!!

So may not be a bad idea to have someone keeping an eye on the carpark during the cermony, not ideal I know but I'm sure you'll agree alot less heartache if anything were to happen........

Hopefully AGS will catch up with these scum bags......... :rapidfire :rapidfire

I have also heard of houses being broken into when the people are at wedding or funerals, so the thieves know the house will be empty. They would also expect to find wedding presents in the house, as lots of people drop them in during the week before the wedding. best lodge all the cash presents into the bank as quickly as possible.

I have also heard of some people getting a neighbour to stay in their house for a few hours while the family attend a funeral, just so it wont be empty if there are thieves checking it out. Haven't heard of it for weddings yet but I suppose its a matter of time.

another missy Brideandjoy did a great blog post on this very thing a while back, it's got some good tips in there: http://www.brideandjoy.ie/wedding-secur ... aught-out/

It's the same reason I'm being careful about announcing on Facebook, blogs, etc. exactly where and when I'm getting married as all it takes is one unscrupulous person to take advantage of it.

I had heard of house been broken into where ppl had heard the family were at a wedding but never heard of cars at the church god its just crazy. Our church has a fairly big car park and were expecting a lot of guests to drive so defo might go for having someone out in the car park during the ceremony i would hate the thought of cars getting broken into on my wedding day.

This is unreal! and the last thing you'd want on your day.... Great heads up shall keep this in mind the day of ours - have a couple of young (18-20) male cousins who I'm sure would love the opportunity not to have to sit through the ceremony:) and like irskdansk have kept public announcing and chat on social networks to a bare minimum actually now that i think of it I don't think I have posted about it at all (more so in a PM to guests who don't live in Ireland)! But again great post and something I would not have thought of til now!

Horrible thing to happen and it did happen my sister in law on her wedding day. Her parents house which faces on to a main road was broken into and ransacked, they must have seen my sil leaving the house & the wedding cars outside etc and took advantage. Her parents discovered the break in early in the evening from neighbours and of course had to leave the wedding reception to go home.
