RSVPs

Postby hella_patchella » Sat Sep 03, 2011 10:20 pm

I have been thinking about invitations and RSVPs and I was wondering if it would be ok to just put one of our mobile numbers on the end of the invitaions to RSVP to? Or would this look incredibly cheap??? :nobadtalk

We put an email address and a phone number on ours. I thought it was most convenient for people but some older people went out and bought an rsvp card to do it the 'right' way. Loads of people rsvp'd me on Facebook or through our mams'. Very annoying! But anyway, to answer your question, I don't think it's really cheap. I think it's the most convenient way for everyone.

Brilliant!! Thanks girls! H2B was worried it would look cheap so I told him I'd ask my Missies their opinion and ye have confirmed that it's ok!! :highfive Will put an email address on it too so. Don't think I'll put a postal address on though as people may think that I want them to go buy their own RSVP cards??

Thanks again Missies!!

Yeah, we made up our own email address especially for the wedding. A friend of mine set up a website that had all the wedding info on it and we could rsvp through it also. That's just another idea.

We made a wedding website (with all the info people need), a wedding email and I put our phone numbers on it too. No RSVP address or RSVP cards. We have had only 1 request for an address to write to us to decline, but that is it. We have had a lot of "replies" through H2B mum when she was in the USA visiting her family. They told her that they couldn't come. That isn't good enough for me, as they didn't even bother responding to us! It takes 5 second to tick a box on the wedding website! So it doesn't matter how easy you make it for people, they will always conveniently "forget" to RSVP. Sorry about the rant, but give yourself some extra time to chase down those missing RSVPs before the wedding day arrives!

im not sure if this is any use to you now but we did the normal invites but we attached a separate sheet. on the sheet it gave driving directions to the church and reception and on the back a list of taxi's and b&b's or guesthouses if people with to avail of them and both our contact number email address and link to our wedding site. Alot of people liked it and it meant they can bring it with them for the driving directions on the day and taxi numbers.

I like the effort you made Koko. I just put everything on the website: flights, hotels, areas of interest whilst in Ireland, RSVP, guest book to sign, pictures of us, ceremony and wedding venues, directions, menu and all that other stuff. I couldn't be arsed to do the directions and stuff with the invitations because I thought I would lose it whilst making them anyway :crazy (although I love little bits of info with the invitation!) You are made of sterner stuff than I. Fair play to ya! :highfive

well I have to say H2B helped me out BIG TIME on the extra sheet. we went to easons and got paper to match the invite then we typed it out, mainly copying and pasting of google maps. It didnt actually take that long tbh? but it did take h2b a couple of goes at printing it out but after that we were flying, I sat back and drank wine.... 8-)

Firstly I its not cheap, and its ideal if thats what suits you.
As I am going through receiving our RSVPs at the minute, I dont think it matters how you want people to RSVP, as we made our own RSVPs and put it in with Invites, which we addressed the envelope all they had to do is put a stamp on it.
Which we have received some RSVPS back, some text messages, some emails, good few people used our website, also people if we met them, especially if they met our parents out, they just tell them, see you at the wedding or I am coming to the wedding.
Whatever about the rest but I cant accept the verbal confirmation as it wasnt said to me and also how can I be sure that they aint just saying that.
