Scared about the weather

Postby feb2012 » Mon Oct 17, 2011 7:37 am

:?
I dont know if anybody else is worried but I am scared about the weather.
I have been checking up the weather forcast but nothing for the end of Feb.
I know that there might be snow from the end of this month but no more.

Is anybody else having this worry?

The one thing that you have no control over is the weather so try not to worry about it

I got married new years eve last year and if you remember we had awful snow last December but it all just melted away before our wedding - and even if it hadn't we would have been fine - you'll work it out. Don't panic :)

I think its too early to get a reliable weather forecast. Maybe if you think about how the weather might affect your wedding and take some precautions you might worry less. For example - is the route from your house to the church/registry office and hotel on a main road that will be salted/gritted? If not maybe have a back up plan to stay somewhere else the night before. Check the hotel and church will have driveways and paths cleared/salted. You may need to do the church grounds yourself , especially if the wedding is mid-week. Buy salt for your driveway so you can walk out to car without slipping and cars don't slip. If hiring a wedding car see if the company has snow tyres or sort out a back up plan - does anyone you know have a 4 wheel drive? Consider transport for groom, bridesmaids etc. Check the priest can get to church in snow - especially if he is elderly and doesn't live beside it. Check if the hotel has generators for if the electricity goes off in a storm. Make sure to have umbrellas/warm clothes and shoes/phone in the car.

Hopefully all the above will be unnecessary. But definitely make sure the heating in the church is turned on early enough to warm it up.

Do what you can to prepare for bad weather and then hope its all a waste of time and you get a lovely mild, dry day. Best of luck.

Oh feb2012 not long now :bounce :bounce . I think we worry about the weather so much because its the only thing out of our control. But honestly think you'll be fine for February. My fiance bday is in february and for the last 8 years we've gone away and I can honestly say we've never had that bad of weather. Two years ago it wasa bit frosty but it's never as severe as December or January.

We are getting married on 29th December and I am not even thinking about the weather cuz I will just drive myself insane. I have zero control over it. If the weather is bad and people are having trouble getting to the wedding, as long as me, H2B and priest are there that's all I care about!

I am getting married at the end of February as well and weather is one of the main reasons we decided on a winter wedding ie can't control it and would prefer not to have a summer wedding and stressing about a nice day in the lead up!! I am just hoping that no matter what happens, as many people as possible make it down to the venue and then after that, who cares!!! Nice warm hotel with lovely log fires - cna't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am getting married on the 24th!!!!!!!!!!! We are having a civil cermony in Kinnitty Castle and obviously the reception in the same place! I am so excited and hopefully it will be a nice location for the winter wedding!!! My sis is organising my hens for the end of Jan (after everyones payday!!!) so everyone seems to be ok with it thank god and she has given them the choice of paying a few quid each month so it won't be too much to land on them in the new year!!! Got a brill deal for accommodation for them for teh weekend of the wedding too which is great cause I know people don't have money these days to throw around!!! So 99% of people are staying for the Fri and Sat night - great to be making the full weekend out of it! Where are you getting married?
