sweet tree question

Postby muckypup » Thu Nov 03, 2011 1:43 am

Following on from another thread i was wondering if any of you knew how far in advance you can pierce chocolates for a sweet tree with sticks before they start going off. i cant imagine the chocs would stay fresh if had holes poked in them and air was able to get to them but maybe im wrong?

my wedding is in 29 days so wonder if thats ok enough time or should i wait?

Hey Mucky I'd probably leave it until closer the time if you can. Chocolate doesn't go off too quickly me thinks so I reckon about 2 weeks or maybe 1 1/2 before the wedding if you're not flying around at that stage pulling the hair out!!

That bride on your ticker is getting very close to the groom!!!!!

We put the trees together so they were ready to go and then about a week before hand we did one of them to test it and then did the other one two days beforehand. Worked out grand! Jaysus mucky, where's the time gone ta?!! Only 29 days! I remember when your ticker said like 500 days or something crazy like that

Wow mucky 29 days . . . :bounce so exciting :smileybride

Sorry to be butting in on your thread but have a question about the trees! This might be a bit silly but what size oasis did you ask for and how many sweets are you having on each tree? I'm just not sure what way to judge it!!

We used 20cm in diameter ones, got them on Ebay. They were a little big. If I was to do it over again I'd opt for a size smaller cause when the balls had the sweets on them they felt a little top heavy ifkwim!

did a trial run last nite on a medium (16cm i tink!) oasis.it took 88 ferrero rochers to fill it up.which was a gud bit more than i expected!
