Hi Girls ,

I wanted to share my Secret Boudoir experience with you all because I had it done recently and I think all girls/brides should know about it. I went to have it done as a special and personal wedding gift to my h2b.

I found Secret Boudoir on here, through others talking about it and also because they are registered as a supplier on Mrs2be. For those who havent heard of it, Secret Boudoir is a photography studio in Harrington St, Dublin 8 where they take you in as you are and photograph you in intimate and beautiful shots. http://www.boudoir.ie/contact.html

At first I was a bit doubtful because I dont have much confidence in myself. Some of my insecurities include my height, scars and some swollen joints due to a bone condition so needless to say I was worried my photos would come out terrible in comparison to the girls in the website gallery. I also didnt think I'd be very comfortable stripping down to my underwear infront of a stranger with a camera! In the end, the reason I decided to go for it anyway was because I emailed Edel with my concerns and she was so nice and reassured me that she would be able to photograph me in ways that I would feel comfortable and she could disguise any bits I didnt like to show. She also told me that every girls she works with has insecurities and many have disabilities of their own. I also decided that my h2b has already seen my body and knows what I look like and still wants to marry me so what the heck!

Advised by Edel, I racked up on the day for my photoshoot with no make up, no tan and loose fitting clothing. My hair had been washed the night before so it could be styled easily. I brought a bag full of little underwear sets that I like and a few pairs of heels. Lisa, the lovely hair & make up artist got to work on my hair and make up, checking with me along the way that I was happy and comfortable with it. I even got lovely false lashes applied and it was gorgeous. Lisa was so nice and offered me bucks fizz, chocolates and tea! When she was finished and I had a look in the mirror I was feeling great - wow!

Then I was ready to go into the studio with Edel. She brought me in and showed me a wardrobe and loads of drawers full of props and outfits to use if I wanted aswel as some of my own stuff! There was tons to choose from! She left me alone for a while to go through everything and find any bits I like. When she came back in she went through the bits I had picked out and also the bits I had brought from home too. Together we decided on the different outfit changes I would have during the shoot and she left me alone to change into the first outfit.

When she came back into the studio we got started with the shots. I began to relax straight away as it was only me and Edel in the room and she was brilliant at instructing me on how to post and what kind of facial expressions to do. During the shoots she gave me different accessories and props to use in the photos. One was a lovely mask with a feather out of it, some pearls and a gorgeous big feathery purple fan. Toward the end of the shoot I was feeling a bit brave and even posed topless with just some rose petals scattered around me! It was alot of fun and before I knew it, 3 hours had passed!

The following week Edel sent me a private viewing gallery online where I could see all my pictures. There was about 150 and I had to narrow it down to about 11 I was so surprised at how many I loved I wanted to keep nearly all of them! It took me days to narrow it down! Edel is going to put them all into a little album book that I will present to h2b the night before the wedding.

I am so glad I had this done. I know my h2b will absolutley love them and he will be so chuffed I did this for him knowing how hard it would have been for me to get the confidence. But in the end, I GAINED confidence from this experience. Looking at myself from another point of view has shown me that I am alot more attractive than I ever thought I was. Sounds fantastic hunni, and sounds like a experience every women should have even if only for themselves. I'd love to have one done, maybe just before wedding next year, might give me a extra boost to losing the baby weight after baba is born and getting into my dress! Well done you. I have heard of a few brides doing this. But it would not be my cup of tea.. I have seen photos of people after they have done it and have to say they do turn out fantastic.. Another wonderful idea for the men. But did you also know that men can do it as well or couple sessions...

Thats how I felt hun but it was great and really worth it. And it does give your self esteem a boost after ward. I think it's even better for girls lacking in self confidence because you gain more from it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Well done you and thanks for posting such informative feedback on your experience!
This is exactly what I was thinking about doing as a gift for H2B but was really nervous, like you I'm not keen on exposing all my flaws! You've helped me decide to go for it. I think its a really fun personal gift.

Can you pm me details of the costs if you don't mind, do you pay per picture you choose or how does it work? I'm afraid that if I love the pictures as much as you did I won't be able to choose and will end up spending a fortune!
