Hey Misses
how are u all? Im just wondering for all the 2014 brides what have you done for your wedding so far???
I was chatting to my moh and i was saying to her id like us to get together with my bm (her sister) to look at colours and dresses to see wat suites them as well they are 2 totaly different people with totaly different style and taste and my moh said its way to early to do anything.

Should i b doing anything at this stage???

I think the main thing would be to get the suppliers you really want booked if you were keen on someone and didnt want them unavailable for your date. Have you the church and venue decided?

Its really up to you timewise but maybe she is conscious of her weight and wants time before she tries dresses on, I know mine did want some time before trying dresses on so they felt good in them and it didnt affect their judgment of the dress if that makes sense but on the flip side she has to understand you're an excited bride who wants to get planning as part of the fun

June 2014 bride here! Have you got a date set?
We have picked out a church and venue, need to do an official visit of each but we are more or less set on them! We have also picked best man and bridesmaid, 1 each. We are also fairly set on a DJ but still need to sort out a band. We are also thinking about who could be asked to do tasks like photography, singing etc instead of gifts. we are lucky to have some very talented friends!
I think you could certainly go on a no-strings-attached shopping trip with the girls, even just window shopping to get an idea of what they like! I do think though if you got them dresses now they might feel under pressure not to put on weight or change their hair colour...
That said I am going shopping with my mum and BM in a couple of months to try on wedding dresses! no strings attached either, just to get a feel for what's out there.
There's probably no need to go mad on tiny details yet but if there is something you have always wanted to do as a bride to be you may as well hve a bit of fun shopping or whatever before the planning takes over your life!

Hey missies!! Another June 2014 bride here. Congrats to you all

So we have set a date (7.6.14) I originally wanted later in June but the world cup starts on the 12th that year so that changed my plans!!!

We have decided on reception venue: met with them twice, they were even happy to show my mum around so we've put down out deposit. With our venue it is a package deal, so photographer; cake; wedding car; DJ; is all included. So we have started to go through suppliers and write details of what we want from each of them. Ibe also looked into videographer and seen one that hubby loves so going to arrangea meeting for that.

I've known from the start what colours I want as I am incorporating my families tartan into the wedding (im Scottish!) so working around that. But my bridesmaids were jumping at the chance.to look at dresses so we went to check some out. Not to buy, just to give them ideas to fuel their excitement!!

My main plan is in the next 6months, to have the venue; church; photographer; videograpger; band picked and deposit paid. Then the rest can wait til a year before.

Hi again Misses

wuzzles i was just thinkn of looking to get ideas of colours so i have somewere to start ya know. I do know one said lets go with gold or red and the other said hell no. for my h2b whos a bit man u fan we are going to name our tables after man u players so red would kinda b ideal ya know. Ya im super excited im in the middle of a weight loss program its me who doesnt want to try dresses on yet haha

yesisaidyes we have set our date its the 5th of december 2014 i know its a long way away but it doesnt stop me getting super excited hehe i might try get them to come with me some sunday and just look cos im dying to look but not try on as i said above im in the middle of losing weight myself

misssunshine000 sounds like a great plan hun and i hope it goes well for u we have our venu booked and we are getting married in the hotel to so its all in the one place. My h2b would love to wear kilts on the big day so we are in the middle of pricing them

Its definately good to start getting ideas for colours. I was very lucky, my bridesmaids were all happy with the colour I'm going for : navy blue but yellow and white bouqets. your bridesmaids ideas on colours might change after they actually see the dress aswell so dont rule anything out yet! One of mine was adament she didnt like any shade of yellow at all. but when we went shopping we tried on a certain style (the dress in the shop in that style happened to be yellow) and after putting it on she loved it - even the colour!!

Good luck on the kilts, they are quite pricey! But then again so are the suits so it probably works out the same!

Maybe if any of us are in the saem area, we can arrange a little meet up further down the line ; swap ideas and the like! Its all sooo exciting, hope you enjoy the planning MrsDOB2B

Peace and quiet haha h2b seemed 2b pretty loud he was going mad at the telly haha. ya ill have 2get them out with me at least to look. Ur colours sound beautiful. my wedding is in december so ill have 2keep in that in mind for colours. oh a meet up sounds so good. would b good 2bounce ideas off eachother xxx

We get our suites as part of our package and i just got an email off him he doesnt do kilts anymore h2b is pretty pissed off bout it oh well suites it is xxx

Aw thats such a shame, kilts look great on the guys. I'm sure he is pissed off. But I'm sure he'll scrub up great in a suit too!! Just tell him how good he'll look in a suit and the boost to his ego should change his mood!!
