Ray D'Arcy talking about cash wedding gifts

Hey, Ray D'Arcy is talking about gifts on his show this morning.
A girl emailed in saying that she's going to a close friend's wedding, and her friend expects €200 cash as a present.
This girl is a student and said she can only afford €50. The poor girl doesn't know what to do. It really is awful that brides expect to get a certain amount of money from their guests.

God I never heard of anyone actually saying they expected a certain figure!
That's mad!
Just give what u can, if I was her, I wouldn't worry, if the bride is that kind of person, she is not worth the worry!

Wow... that's quite tacky. Not to mention really presumptuous! Imagine "expecting" €200 minimum...

Personally I'd go with the 20+ Tesco toaster route on that couple.

thats terrible, how can she expect that, i would nt even get her a toaster, pick up a towel bale in penneys for a tenner, she does nt like it then tough..

It sounds like that bride is getting married in the hopes of making a profit especially when a wedding day for guests is already so expensive with the outit,room and a night of deinks to include.

i was invited to a wedding lat year where it called out for cash gifts only on the invite and the bride was putting the work around that €200 per couple was expected!
i can't believe the balls some people have
