Re: Saving for the big day!!!
My fiance and I immediately opened a joint bank account and had the bank automatically take out a specific sum of money each month and deposit it into our joint account. We didn't have to think about saving, we had it done for is. This helped limit our spending during the month since we immediately saw that we had less money in the bank. It might be a good idea. Best of luck!

Re: Saving for the big day!!!
We have a jar aswell and I have a special wedding account that I put as much as I can into everyweek, I have a dd going into it everyweek for €15 so there is always something going into it. H2b has credit union which he puts money into, so thats how we are saving.
Have to say the jars are brilliant, we were filling ours there for ages and had €500 when we emptied it, put it towards our weekend in Manchester at the end of August, though I sciffoned some off for the wedding account. Mind you only had a healthy balance in the account when we started to book things and it disappeared on deposits
Jar isnt doing as well at the moment as h2b isnt earning, he has been waiting on his college grant since september and only found out last week that it wont be paid untill January, so things have been tight with us the past few months (as it has been with everyone) so we often ended up emptying the jar for all 10,20 and 50cents when we needed to get things and for bus tickets, also didnt really have that much spare change by the end of the week either!
