I did a similar diet but was more based on the GI of foods recently but was with a certain gym brand and personal trainer. I found it brilliant and really the only way to lose weight and keep it off long term is to limit your carbs. Consequently you can eat quite a lot of protein and it really doesn't put on weight. Apparently (from my personal trainer and dietician there) all those low fat products are really bad for you. Low GI seems to be the way to go. I lost 2 stone in a few months but lost inches and inches and it has stayed off which is the main thing! Big difference in clothes, knee high boots etc. I think it's particularly hard for us Irish to cut out our carbs but from now on that will be the path I'm going down and I used to be a self-confessed bread/pasta/potato addict.

Yeh, I'm exactly the same! I'm not overweight or anything but it's mainly to lose the excess fat I have and get rid of that bloated feeling I get after eating breads and carbs in general. There's a lot about low GI foods in this diet too so fingers crossed it goes well and stays off! It's going well so far anyway, no cheating as yet but Jesus I wanted a McDonalds last night and I don't even eat that normally, certainly not often but getting awful cravings :)

cw2bab, sausages and dairy milk bars doesn't sound too bad. I could probably live with that  Mind you, I'm sure it wouldn't be too healthy after a while...

Ya i lost a stone in about 3 months was delighted. i just did lot of walking, found a fitness chanell on sky,and recorded it "hi impact aerobics" did bit of that, also cut down my food intake...my main prob was eating a big dinner with himself :nope ,he a builder so he can work it off,but in my job,i be just sitin on my ass most of the day! ...then getting no excercise.and tried cutting out alot of carbs...its hard,i had to gradually cut down,i seem to be staying the same weight,i was never that big it was mainly my stomach,i looked like i was pregnant! im size 12 back down to my normal 10 :bounce

good luck everyone, just be careful wit the dress size!
