Wedding Photo Locations?

Postby loveisintheair » Wed Aug 05, 2009 9:59 pm

Hey all!
me&h2b are trying to decide on a place to have our wedding photos taken on the big day! Our hotel has some nice spots to take photos, but we'd love a nice spot to take a few lovely snaps. Any one know of nice parks etc in the Cork City area? Thanks girls!! :smitten

I haven't a clue.... i am from meath. I have a lot of friends from cork i could ask if you like. Myself and H2B are going up to O'Connell's pub on the Hill of Skryne (its in the guinness ad at christmas) and having some of our photos done up there at the old steeple beside it. The views are amazing from it!!!!!

depends on where in cork your getting married but fota house has some nice gardens that you could go to for your photo's. know people that got married in kinsale and they took photos by the wayter and they turned out lovley too.

also if your getting a photographer ask them where they have done wedding photo's for other people.

Hi ya

You could go to Fitzgerald Park on Grand Parade, i saw a few pics from a cork photographer and he came across some graffiti artists who sprayed the wall behind (done tastefully in fairness) with the Bride adn Groom pics.
Bessboro gardens in blackrock are nice too.

Let your photographer worry about this. That's what he's being paid for?

Plenty of areas around Cork City depending on the style you're after. The time of year may also be a factor.

Ideally you want somewhere between the Church & Reception venue, as you don't want to wandering away for too long.

A good photographer will be able to take wonderful shots anywhere.

When you book your photographer he may offer to take some engagement or pre-wedding photos. This will be your opportunity to scout locations.

We have two people taking our pictures, one is my brother in law to be who is just going to take random shots on the day...he is a free lance photographer. And then a friend of me & h2b is a photographer also, he's doing the pictures as our wedding present. He's not from cork so he's not familiar with the areas. We're on a budget so not hiring someone, I think it will be much more relaxed having a friend do it also...im a bit camera shy.

Thanks for the tips thou! :happywave

No bother,

Fitzgerald's Park was mentioned earlier. The guys shouldn't have any problem finding a good location there. Be wary of the traffic if it on a Friday or Saturday. Give yourselves plenty of time.

I'm sure everything will go perfectly,

Enjoy the day and all that follows,
