Hi misses,

I am new to Mrs2b but thought I would share my experience of buying the ring with you. We got engaged on holidays, but had no luck in getting the ring there. Decided to have a luck in Dublin to see what was around, all while toying with the idea of going to antwerp or London. Anyway, saw a style I liked that was way out of the budget, but took a picture of it any way. Then proceeded to visit all the usual city centre spots, Tiffanys, Weldons, Weirs, Applebys, Powerscourt etc. We were increasingly getting annoyed and dismayed at the lack of rings in a similar style at our budget. We were feeling a bit dispirited when by chance we wandered into a new jewellers on Trinity St, Neil Conway Jewellers and told Neil the story of the search. We showed him the picture and he agreed to make the ring within our budget! So here I am three weeks later with the most amazingly perfect engagement ring on my finger. I could not be happier and can't wait to go back for the wedding rings. :D

We went on holiday to Abu Dhabi and got the ring there. Lots of mad designs but there is a great jewellers in the Marina Mall called Al Ain and they have fab 'westernised' designs... you'd find something you like.... much cheaper too!

Myself and my fiance are looking at different options on where to buy an engagement ring.

I've seen some really nice rings in Dublin and have got them to knock down the prices.

Does anyone know if there would be much of a difference in buying the ring in Antwerp or anywhere else?

We got ours in Lunn's in Belfast. They have two stores in Belfast we got ours in The Victoria Centre.
The selection is really good and they are really lovely-champers and the whole nine yards! You also get a discount if you buy your wedding rings, an engagement portrait and a yearly clean!
