Average Cost of Wedding Planners

Postby mrsOtobe » Wed Jul 01, 2009 11:57 am

Hi everyone :happywave Inspired by my chats with portobride, I thought it might be a good idea to list quotes we'd received from different wedding planners, kind of like a handy reference guide which might help with initial ideas of who to contact. I've found it quite time consuming contacting various companies looking for the best deals! (Not helped by the fact that we were initially looking at Italy but are now more than likely switching to Portugal so I'm going through the whole enquiry process again!)

Claire has just asked that we please just make sure that if posting a quote to detail what is and isn't included in the quotes, to be fair to the suppliers (and also to us B2Bs!)

And if for any reason, someone doesn't want to mention the company by name, you can always just give a description, such as "Dublin based planners specialising in the Italian Lakes" or something like that. And then we can always PM for more info.

Hope this ends up being of use!

Wedding Planners in the Algarve

Simplicity Events - €750 including all taxes.

Algarve Dream Weddings - €650 plus VAT at 20%

Both seem to offer pretty much the same service and I found both to be very friendly and helpful.

Hi
Just new to this weddings forum, I googled weddings in Portugal and linked to here.

I saw the wedding fees that have been posted, quite a difference between Italy and Portugal.
We were thinking of gettting married in Itay originally and then alot of people have been saying that Italy has gone more expensive.
So we contacted Simplicity Events, Jacqui is the wedding planner and she has a fee of €750 which includes unlimited emails and contact and will also be present on the day. She said one of the last weddings she was at she was there till 2 am in the morning to make sure all were on the buses back to their hotels it was an all exclusive venue that she sent us info on and it looks fab, dying to see it.

From also being at a wedding in France we loved the idea of going abroad to get married, I had never considered getting married in Ireland. I have had discussions with friends and people who know and have been to weddings abroad and they have all recommended to get a wedding planner. One friend told me that there was a wedding that they were at, and it was such a hot day that no one thought of water or a fan for the Bride and Groom, the wedding planner was there straight away waiting at hand, then Groomsman forgot his speech on the bus back from the church , the wedding planner went straight away to to bus depot, picked up the speech and this was all unknown to the Bride and Groom. also the poor guy was so distraught the planner had to make real light of it and calm him down as he was so nervous. They said she was great, assisting with all the outside things that the Bride and Groom would not see.
I think it is a great idea to have someone do the running around and you can relax and leave it to someone who gives it more the personal touch. We are looking at the moment to get married in 2012, we hope to visit the Algarve next year, and we are looking to view some venues and hopefully get all sorted while we are there as I don't think we will be able to go back until near the day of the wedding.

We have been quoted €1250 plus 18%vat for our wedding next yr in malta which i think is really reasonable considering the amount of work they put into it x
