Re: Sample costs for wedding in Italy
Thanks for posting that, good to have something to compare to. Have you found that photographers are much more expensive in Italy than in Ireland? We have found a fantastic photographer, now granted his photo's have been published in a number of fashion and other magazines and her has won various prizes and even done celebrity weddings, but his starting price is €3,600. But he appears to be fantastic. I can't being myself to pay that amount of money even though we will be saving loads elsewhere, but now that I know Ican't afford him.....I really really want him

Re: Sample costs for wedding in Italy
I couldnt read this post without replying.
I was at a wedding near Postiano a few weeks ago, in a small holiday village called Santa Maria de Castellabate.
As I got my hair & makeup done in the hotel by a local lady for an amazing price of 40euro, I asked the bride how much her hair & makeup was. She replied that Hair and make up for bride, 2 bridesmaid & the 2 mothers, including trials was 250euro - that is half the price of the above !!
the hair & make up for the bridal party was simple & natural but perfect none the less !!
just wanted to let you know !! sometimes it pays to question prices !!
Good luck !

Re: Sample costs for wedding in Italy
I too am getting married in Italy this summer and having read your post I have to say I think your planner maybe working on mark ups and commission. These costs seem to me to be much higher than what I am paying in 2012 and you were married in 2009! For example I am paying 280 euro for 2 strings and that includes tax it means that they are asking for 310.00 plus 20% so 372.00 euro. Hair and make up they are asking 470 euro plus 20% so 576 euro where as I am paying 400 euro for my hair and make up, trial and my 2 bridesmaids and my mothers hair.
I know it is hard when trying to find an honest planner but I asked for direct contact with a few suppliers and venues to make sure my planner honestly does not work on commission or places mark ups on costs. I might be paying more for her basic services but looking at the prices you posted I am saving in so many areas and don't feel that I am a being taken for a ride. I would insist on paying suppliers directly in to their bank account and seeing receipts with P.Iva directly from the supplier. My planner is also Irish/British and is turning in to a good friend, I am enjoying planning my wedding! Good luck ladies and remember not everyone is dishonest!

Re: Sample costs for wedding in Italy
I'm getting married in Sorrento/Positano next summer and I haven't hired a planner. I was wondering if you would share your vendors/info with me? I'm having trouble with photography too. For 4/5 hours of photos they're looking 2100 euro! I'm looking into bringing a photographer with me and paying travel costs etc.
For makeup alone, I've been quoted 305 euro for a trial and then makeup on the morning for me and one bridesmaid.
Where are you having your reception? You haven't long to go!
