OH and I had initially decided to have a small wedding here. We had always thought we couldnt afford a wedding abroad but having looked at some of the prices, we reckon we may be able too. We are still having a small wedding, about 30 people incl. 8 children. We are looking at Portugal, Lanzarote & Spain. I had always wanted a civil but I will marry in a church, if I can get married abroad. Our budget is quite minimal...max €5000 and that is stretching it.

Can anyone give me a rundown on cost for Portugal, Lanzarote & Spain. Recommend a good wedding planner? I have found Anne Leneghan in Lanzarote who my friend used years ago. Very grateful for any replies. Information is racing around my head and OH is happy to let me decide, no pressure there then LOL.

Good choice! We're getting married abroad in September this year with about 30 guests and a budget of €5000. Took us a while to decide on a destination as there is so much choice and everywhere looks lovely. We have decided on Sardinia - so none of your ideas but the same principle. Get in touch with wedding planners in all the countries that you like and ask for info on venues, costs etc. It'll give you an idea of what's on offer and what suits you.

Sardinia sounds fab. We have, I think, decided on Malaga. We have 2 small children & most of our friends have small children so really wanted somewhere with a short flight. Would have loved Sorrento but budget definitly stretch that far. Im heading off to Malaga at the end of the month, the girls bought me a flight for my birthday : ), so am going to take adv and go visit sunset beach club. They do a deal of all in for 5100 for 30 people. Just have to get ourselves there and put the clothes on our back. Only thing Im worried about is the room may be to big and we would be lost inside it.

Really just wanna book somewhere and know thats it happening. Can sit back & relax for a while then before the real planning starts. Have you booked your venue & church yet?
