Wedding in Cortona Italy, so stressed...

Postby cortonaBride » Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:56 pm

Hi everyone,

We are getting married in Cortona in early Sept. I have been really organised and planning this for over 2 years. We have (had) a wedding planner after searching high and low who we met in August during a previsit. She has been good to deal with and everything was going great... until yesterday. I got an email from her to say that her business is closing down at the end of Feb! We now have to find someone new. She did say she would pass us over to her ex assistant who now has her own business but I don't know anything about her and she doesn't seem terribly experienced.

I'm so stressed and worried. As well as probably being out of pocket (we have paid her a few hundred euro already about half of the deposit and she says this is to cover the work already done on the wedding) we now have to find someone that we trust or just decide to do it ourselves. If anyone has any suggestions for wedding planners in that area that would be great.

Think I just needed to vent more than anything!

Thanks for listening

We attended a wedding in Cortona last year - I'll see if I can dig out the wedding planner's details...

Thanks everyone! I think we have found a local planner in Cortona who is available on that date. She seems very professional and nice, the company is called "One and Only" wedding planners. Fingers crossed :)

blokey thanks for the pm! We actually contacted him yesterday but he wasn't available on that date. Hopefully we will get something sorted soon with One and Only. I just can't believe our wedding planner up and left us like that! As far as I know she is moving to England! Scary really. Hopefully we will have a better experience with a new wedding planner. We are out of pocket which makes me so angry but I'm just going to try and look forward now. Luckily we didn't pay her the full amount!
