If you're NOT tying the knot in Ireland, post all about it here. Greece, Spain, Italy, France.... any foreign destination.

Hey - You Are JOKING!!!! 5.5k.... :wtf

:yikes2 :yikes2 There is noooooo way I am paying that, don't care how good they are!! :crazy :crazy

So where did you find that band Princess and have you been able to see a demo of them on youtube or somewhere to see what they are like? Tell me they are waaaaaayyyy more reasonable than the last one!!??

Also what is RTG?? :?

I am hoping to find some sort of entertainment with DJ and I also want some soft music at the ceremony in the gardens along the lines of harpist/violinist etc so need to get looking for that and prices etc as I can only imagine how much it will be....

OMG that is mental... and bit weird with the hole in them... but are they comfy? as that is all that matters as you can just run to the bathroom in time to take them off when needed :D

Did you bring your dress to a seperate alteration centre from that of the bridal boutique you bought it in as that seems very reasonable?

I have some great news.... NOT!!!!!
Bloody airline - we all know the one!! They pulled the route to Angouleme so unless they come to some agreement with the French Authorities I will have to find an alternative route and so far it is looking like Bordeax. Problem here is the flights are MAD expensive as it is a very popular place so fingers crossed it gets sorted :ranting :ranting

Anyway on the plus side, I managed to get cheap flights to Bordeaux to go over and view the Chateau and discuss further with the planner now in May so looking forward to that... surrounding myself in Bridal mags at the mo so have a million ideas going round in my head.... Not good though as I want everything I see!!!

reck the gaf!

The band I got is http://www.joke-box.net/html/ I think the band has a violonist as well
My brother went to check them out, so happy with that.

For the magic pants, yes they are comfy and easy to remove. I am just thinking that as they go right under the boobs, it is to avoid to get too much undressed but it does not matter as there is no way I am peeing though the hole.
The shop where I got my dress closed down (Bridal Wraptures), so I had my dress with me anyway. So, I had to get it altered myself but the Alteration Centre was recommended to me. For info, I got my dress at a sample sale

That is a pain for the flights. I hope you get it sorted out. Would the TGV from Paris go there? I can imagine the craic by travelling through Paris (if cheaper) and then everyone takes the train.

What ideas did you have? Tell me more.......

Hi,

You B2B's seem so organised !!

I have just been reading all of your posts and your chateaus look amazing - I am also getting married in a chateau in the Charente-Maritime in September and am struggling with decorating the venue. I have found so many places in the UK to buy / hire things but cannot find anything similar in France.

Does anyone know of local companies that do this ? I am especially looking for candelabras.

Any help or guidance would be sooooooooooo appreciated !! :happywave

I got married in France last year - and it only cost me £5000!! There are ways of doing it on the cheap - like renting a large gite / country house and taking over a local restaurant for the meal. We married in the Languedoc Roussillon in a tiny village. We had a 100 guests and danced the night away on the village green. Worth asking the Mayor - as the village is usually very grateful for the business. If you speak little french, it's definitely worth getting a wedding planner. I was lucky in that my family had a house there anyway, so were able to organise a lot of it there. Marrying in France is SO romantic, you'll find a way of doing it if you really want it.

Thank Poppy but I am sorted. Getting married in 18 days!
I know that you can spend very little at a weddding (it is free to marry in France) but we had the bridesmaids and groomsmen outfit, the band, the DJ, the drinks, the deco, it all adds up and I understand that it is cheaper in Province but Chantilly was easier to get to for my family and friends.

Finishing my last preparations (I am sick of it at this stage)!!!!

Hi Cotedazur
Guessing you are looking to get married in South of France? Congratulations on your engagement.
I got married last May but outside Paris. I did not hire a wedding planner as I was too fussy to let anyone do it for me
I would not be able to help you on how to find a wedding planner I am afraid.
If you have any other questions, let me know

Hi girls, I've been reading all your posts with interest, I'm hoping to get married in France in June 2012. I'd love to hear how your wedding went princess as we are currently looking at chateaus outside Paris but we haven't made any definite decisions yet about what region we'll choose. Thanks xx

Hi Girls,
We are planning to get married in France- Ardeche in June 2012.
Does anyone have any advice for a band? I've looked up Joke Box. They look interesting.
Does anyone know if they are expensive or if they are any good?
Thanks :D
