Hey, Just returned from our trip to the algarve.
We saw a couple of the above options but have to say the one we thought would be our first choice didn't work out at all for us. :nobadtalk
Everything at Vila vita was way above our budget so i was a bit disappointed with getting my hopes up in the first place.

other choices we are looking into are:

http://www.granderealsantaeulaliahotel.com/index.html
gorgeous place with an option to have the ceremony at the sea's lounge with gorgeous view
http://www.tivolihotels.com/hotels-port ... /list.aspx the hotel was a bit dated but the cliff where you can have the ceremony and cocktail is Amazing

other websites which have been a help to us:

http://www.algarveweddingplanners.com/
http://www.joaophotographer.com/
http://www.algarvemusicagency.com/
http://weddings-in-the-sun.com/portugal.html
http://www.doublecocktail.com/

best of luck on all ur planning will keep you updated on mine :outtahere

Heads up on Joao, his prices are dear enough too basic package is €1300, not such a basic price unfort

Yeah, we thought that!

We've booked Pink Imaging for both our video and photos. Delighted we finally got that side of things sorted, it was one of the last big things we needed to sort out!

Just realised that is the pousada we visited as well! It's the one that they were still doing work on when we visited? Are they still doing work there now? I think it will be a really different type of venue option once it's all finished.

They seemed to be working on some part of the gardens putting in a car park I think. But otherwise it looked pretty done to me.

Haven't booked photographer yet, will let you know who we go with.

Ah right, was just wondering :D How are the rest of your plans coming along? What else have you left to sort out? I think we're fairly much there now but there's bound to be something I've forgotten! The one thing we've not arranged yet is transport from the church to the reception - we can't make our minds up what to do - the distance between the two is so short that its hardly worth paying for a nice car or something, but then I don't know what else we'll do yet.

No we didnt want a digital album. Not yet anyway. We're going to get albums made up a few months after the wedding when we've repaired the bank balance a little! It was just one way to save on money. We're just getting the digital files.

Bit worried re invites but H2B on the case there as its his friend designing them, please god will get them out to everyone next wk. I feel quite behind on that but really its only about 10 days since we got Church and venue booked!
Have our flights out booked & hotel for first wk. Honeymoon depends on my work giving me the time off I want, work still "considering it" We might head off to Lisbon or somewhere after the guests head home.

Getting wedding planner to suss out bus for guests & car for us, we might just a hire a nice car :speedy for the wk & get one of the lads to drive on the day, depends on cost of getting a driver. Cake, the venue doing that for us which is great. Flowers have a quote but not too worried about booking just yet. Hair & make up, wedding planner booking that. Bridesmaids - they are going shopping in March. My dress booked, will get shoes etc later. Photographer, still working on that. H2B loves shopping so he'll sort out his own suit no worries.

All in all I feel like we've lots done but the stoopid invites are weighing on my mind a bit I have to say :crazy

Hi mrsOtobe and flowerbride. When we were considering getting married in Portugal, we visited (I think) ALL 5 star hotels in the Algarve. And, after having a look to Grande Real Santa Eulália and Sheraton (recommended by the wedding planner) we were really happy about them. But then, we visited several other hotels by ourselves and were most impressed by the Hotel Vila Vita Parc located in a huge dimension of gardens and beautiful views over the Atlantic Ocean. Ladies, I must say...IT'S HEAVEN!!!!!! Lots of gardens, lakes, REALLY FANTASTIC places for our photo shooting. We were told that the hotel itselfs is a "Leading Hotel of the World" and has now a michelin star for its gourmet restaurant. This is a place to remember...perfect for our special date. The reason why it doesn't appear in the wedding planners radars is because this hotel is quite exclusive . Concerning the service, they are all very very very professional (we were recommended by Helena - responsible person for weddings - to take our lunch at the typical portuguese Restaurant inside the resort and were very impressed with profissionalism and friendliness of staff), they make you feel home and special. Helena is a very caring person, and she's always available to listen to our ideas...well she's great! I must say also that concerning the menu options this hotel was the most flexible one we visited. Also concerning our ideas. If some of you are considering getting married in the Algarve YOU MUST VISIT VILA VITA PARC. Believe me...you'll fall in love for the resort too... :D I can also give Helena's contact: fb@vilavitaparc.com

I'm sorry, didn't noticed that you've already visited Vila vita parc...and yes...it's a little bit more expensive but my father didn't mind to pay a little bit more so I could get married in such a place!!! I guess _I was lucky :)
