wedding venue....portugal or altea????
wedding venue....portugal or altea????
Ive heard portugal can be rather expensive however certain venues there have a serious wow factor, Im crazy about the sheraton and also the grand real santa eulalia. On the other hand, altea in spain seems much more affordable especially to our guests I would imagine, as they cud even stay in nearby Benidorm and probably make a proper vaction out of the whole thing. As credit crunch is hitting most families I think altea is a better option and I'm really impressed by what Ive heard in other forums about altea.
Anyhoo, any advice would be deepley appreciated.

I'm now in contact with Paula from algarve wedding planners, she has been fabulous so far. She works with Amazing venues and the lowest prices. She comes highly recommend by the grande real santa eulalia which is more in our budget as the sheraton and the vila vita but has just as gorgeous sea views.
Why don't you send Paula an email I'm sure she will be able to send you on some information. Good Luck!

Hey mrs_h2b! Wecome to the site! Tough decision! We're getting married in Portugal but cost has been a major factor in our decision, especially for the guests. Most of the low cost airlines fly into Faro so flights aren't too bad and we've arranged a good deal for accomodation for a lot of our guests over the three main nights of the wedding. People extending the stay tend to be renting villas and there seems to be a lot of availability on villas at the moment, so a lot of peope are saying they have negotiated lower rents with the landlords.
I don't know anything about Altea though so if its getting great reviews and it will be a cheaper option then it sounds like a great place to consider!

Am thinking about getting married abroad too but would like somewhere not over touristy.. there is only going to be 60 guests max. Altea in Spain has been mentioned by one my aunt and friends have mentioned Portugal & Italy. I have been in touch with a few planners - prices vary greatly and it is starting to get confusing!!!! I know I will need a planner becauses I don't feel confident that I would be able to organise something like this myself . How do couples pick one planner above a other??.. there are so many offering different packages
