After six months of working together, Aisling and Andrew began talking during a works night out – the rest as they say, is history.

“I had always joked I wanted to be proposed to in the Aviva during a match as we had seen that happen once during a match! For my proposal Andrew kept up half of the joke – at half time during one of his favourite teams matches, Andrew proposed in our living room!” said Aisling.

The laid back couple wanted their wedding day to reflect their relaxed personalities, and when a friend suggested Ballybeg House in Co. Wicklow, Aisling and Andrew visited it and loved it straight away.

“We knew we wanted the day to be about family and friends and that’s exactly how it was. We rented Ballybeg for four days. Andrew’s family and friends had all travelled over from Malta so it was great to have somewhere we could all relax for a few days.” added Aisling.

Although a theme was never set in stone Aisling and Andrew had plenty of pretty details dotted throughout the day, including the quirky wedding signage, vibrant blooms, a customised suitcase wedding cake and their bespoke logo, which Aislings’ sister designed incorporating the Irish harp and the Maltese Cross. The bespoke design was used on the couples wedding stationery and also the shot glass favours they gave to each guest.

Aisling wore a beautiful Linea Raffaelli gown from Butterfly Bride in Blackrock which had a pretty ethereal flowing skirt and ruched bodice effect and teamed it with simple jewellery and a crystal encrusted headpiece. Her bridesmaids wore popping blue calf skimming gowns which featured little flower details.

“The day went really well, with no disasters! The funniest moment was when Andrew broke into song during his speech, singing Elvis, ‘I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You,’ this was my favourite memory of the day!” said Aisling.

“We were so happy with every aspect of the day. Our photographer Paul was wonderful at keeping us relaxed and getting wonderful photos. I hate getting my photo taken so this was an amazing achievement! Our church singer Laura Bolger was amazing in the church and with the band, Long John Jump Band, later that evening. The food was wonderful as were all of the staff at Ballybeg. We couldn’t have asked for a better day,” she added.

Following their wedding celebration Aisling and Andrew went to Vietnam and Cambodia on their honeymoon, where they enjoyed the culture, history and people of these two amazing countries.
