Are you struggling to choose your favourite? Or maybe you simply don’t have a clue where to begin? No need to panic, today we’re keeping things simple and sharing our top tips for choosing the perfect person to capture your wedding day, as well as all the questions you need to be asking.

Style: What is their shooting style? Do they blend into the background and capture each wedding naturally without any posed images? What about their editing style, are their images soft and light or do they use filters to create added drama? Choose the style you prefer and seek out the photographer who will deliver this.

Services: Many photographers offer a pre-wedding or engagement shoot in their packages, is this important to you? On your wedding day what time will the photographer stay to, some will head off after you cut your cake, others will stay until the day has turned into a dance-off, chat about how much coverage of the day you want. Do they use a second photographer? Many couples love to have a second photographer capturing a different aspect of the day, does your preferred photographer offer this?

Products: Are you happy with just a digital capture of your day, so you will receive a USB containing all your images? If you want a full wedding album ask if your packages includes this or if it will be extra. Do you receive any prints within your package and don’t forget to ask about smaller albums for your parents and family.

Budget: Generally your wedding photography should be between ten and 20 percent of your overall wedding spend. Find out pricing of your favourites and work from there. We would always suggest choosing the best you can possibly afford, after all, your wedding photos will be looked at and adored for many years to come!
