Recycle Your Wedding!

By  |

When your big day has come and gone and you are now a Mrs, what do you plan to do with all your wedding items? Don’t let them clog up space in your spare room -unless you are a total hoarder!- here are a few suggestions for what you can do with them!

Your Dress

There are lots of different things you could do with your wedding dress…

-Store it perfectly in a PH neutral wedding dress storage box, like this one, for a friend, family member or even a future daughter to wear someday.

– Design a new outfit from your dress. You could add or remove sleeves, dye it a different colour or even have it made into two separate pieces.

– Donate it to charity so that someone less fortunate can share the joy and happiness you did on your wedding day.

– Sell your dress to fund something memorable that you might want such as that fancy designer handbag that you have always wanted!

Or you could have it framed and admire it everyday!

Make a wedding scrapbook.

Take special little details from your day such as the bride and groom place settings, a flower from your bouquet or a copy of the Order of Service and make a wedding scrapbook or trinket box. You will love taking it out every now and then to reminisce.

Preserve your wedding bouquet.

A quick Internet search will throw you up plenty of advise on drying out flowers, but you could always ask your florist if they could dry them out, which you could then add to your scrapbook or have them professionally framed to keep forever.

Your cake!

Tradition tells us to keep the top tier of your wedding cake for your first borns christening, ladies, this is a lovely thing to do…But, please have it re-iced before the event! Two year old icing is pretty hard to get through!!

Everything but the kitchen sink…

Join Ebay and get selling! From a ‘Wedding This Way’ sign to your very wedding shoes, if friends or family don’t want it, and you don’t mind getting rid, why clog up your house with random bits, make some money and go get yourself (or your husband) something nice! There are also specialised wedding sites to sell your pre-loved items. If you have no idea where to start take a look at Sell My Wedding, that should get you off to a good start!
