Summer Sun At The Step House Hotel

Today’s wedding will bring you straight back to those balmy days of July, when the sun was high in the sky and life was fantastic! Our couple today were lucky enough to get married on one of those perfect days, and as you will see from the lovely images from Fleeting Moments Photography, lots of fun was had by every guest, both young and old.

Jennifer and Alan have worked together for six years and met on Jennys first day in the job. Alan explains:

“We met on Jenny’s first day at work and with so many shared interests we were inseparable very quickly. We didn’t tell people at work initially but as we’ve since found out, everyone knew from day one!”

After a romantic proposal in a French chateau whilst on a wine tasting holiday, the couple began making decisions about their wedding, with the first big one being where to have it.

“We both work in Dublin, but with Jenny being from Fermanagh and me coming from Wexford, choosing a location for the wedding was tough.”

After looking at venues both in the North and South, they found themselves looking around Step House in Barrow, County Carlow. They immediately knew this was the perfect place and booked it three hours later.

Jenny wanted to create a charming, fun packed day for everyone and achieved this with quirky touches including the DoodleMoose Designs stationery, zingy floral bouquets, retro dessert table and a Jenga game, which made a perfect guestbook alternative.

“Peter, our photographer, suggested we stop at the Viaduct on our way to Step House. We are so glad we did, because we got some amazing unique shots taken there.”

“When we arrived at the reception we had a couple of hours to mingle with our guests in the garden which was lovely. Before we knew it we were being called for dinner! One of the main reasons we chose the Step House was the food and we weren’t disappointed.”

“The speeches took around 25 minutes and once they were over it was party time. Alan put a lot of effort in to get the perfect band, and it paid off as The Moog 69s had the floor jammed all night.” 1646 1753 1768 1786

Jenny’s Highlight:

“My highlight was actually the service. Walking up the aisle is an indescribable experience.  Once I reached the top and Alan took my hand, I totally relaxed and we both really enjoyed the service.”

Alan’s Highlight:

“Seeing Jenny at the top of the aisle. She looked so stunning and so composed. It actually calmed me down seeing her so calm!”
