Three New Decor Trends To Try Out

By  |

With a new year comes new trends for everything, not least weddings! Of course, that is our favourite subject around here and word has it these three decor trends are going to be pretty popular this year. They might not be obvious but, believe us, they will make a difference! So sit back and see what all the fuss is about!

New wedding decor trends for 2016

  1. Say hello to Ghost and Crossback chairs: Yes, the love of the Chiavari chair is coming to an end, and just when venues have stocked up on them! Oh yes the seating at your wedding is a very important factor and will definitely help with the overall mood and atmosphere of your reception – remember how banquet chairs got their chair cover over-haul? Well, two new ideas in the seating range are Ghost chairs -those elegant clear plastic visions- and the cross back chairs, think swanky restaurant style seating! They are completely different in styling so choose what works best for your venue, and of course if you’re not that fussed on what your guests sit on the Chiavari chair is still a very pretty option! Ghost chairs can be hired from Swift Services.

2. Long table rules: If you’re one for forgetting tradition why not forego the usual top table arrangement and go for all out banquet style with long tables. 2015 saw a huge rise in this trend and we know why, because it’s utterly stylish and makes for a more relaxed do! Long tables, square tables and tables placed in a ‘U’ shape are the way to go here, and just imagine how easy your table plan will be! You’re with us now, aren’t you?! Of course, with a long table your arrangements will change, think moss table runners, sparkly linen and rows of candles- gorgeous!

3. Go bold or go home: Hooray! We do adore the soft and sublime muted tones of recent years gone by but we are ready for some in-your-face colour! This year we really want to see brides step away from Pinterest and all it’s grey and blush beauty and inject some really fun and lively colour into their wedding decor. Scared it can’t be stylish? You’re just looking at the wrong things! We’re looking for deeper, jewel tones – rich red, ambient amber, teal and rich purples. Go on give it a try, there are so many options other than grey and blush – you’ll be glad you did!
