Two Days,Two Ceremonies: Catriona & Kunal Tie The Knot!

By  |

Why have one wedding day, when you can have two? That’s exactly what our couple today, Catriona and Kunal did in August! They held their traditional Hindu ceremony in Castlemartyr Resort, and followed the next day with a Catholic ceremony in Church of the Sacred Heart, Mogeely. Their two stunning days were captured by James Hearne Photography and we’re delighted to share this unique wedding celebration.

Our bride, Catriona, a teacher from County Kilkenny, first met Kunal, a tax manager from Berkhamsted in England at a mutual friends 30th birthday party in the fancy surroundings of the Mayfair Hotel in London. They shared their first kiss on Waterloo Bridge in the city and when Kunal decided the time was right, proposed on exactly that same spot! “Kunal proposed on 9th March last year. He got gown on one knee in front of hundreds of tourists after a romantic brunch at the Delauney Restaurant,” explained Catriona.

Having decided on an Irish wedding, the couple began to search for the perfect venue, which had to have close links to an airport as many of the guests would be flying in from all across the world. “We fell in love with the Castlemartyr Resort and the beautiful Mogeely Church in Castlemartyr and just knew they were for us and perfect for both ceremonies,” added Catriona.

Catriona wore a traditional Lengha in opulent green and gold for their Hindu ceremony, whilst style and tones were kept soft and romantic with hints of pink for the Catholic ceremony the following day. She purchased her beautiful Pronovias gown and veil in Bijou Bridal, Tramore. Her bridesmaids wore soft pink Kelsey Rose dresses from Ivory Rose, Passage West Cork.

“Both days were amazing, although a bit like a whirlwind, we wish we had a pause button! Kunal’s speech blew me away- also him playing guitar to Foxy Lady with the wedding band supporting him,” said Catriona.
