Megan and Sean’s Bundoran Engagement Session ~ { Part 2 }

By  |

We’ve got Part 2 of this vintage inspired engagement shoot to share with you today. Donegal based photographer Christina J Irwin Photography worked closely with Megan and Sean to create a jam packed engagement photo shoot. Don’t forget to check out part 1 of this shoot if you missed it – it’s a fun amusement park session!

We heard all about how Sean and Megan met in part 1, but what about the proposal?

We were together 5 years when Sean proposed, it was a few days before our anniversary. Friends of ours were up visiting from Cork for the weekend. Sean and Jason went out to get takeaway for dinner and were gone for about 2 hours!

When they eventually came back Jason came into me and said to go out the back it was starting to rain and Sean needed a hand taking in the washing. I looked out the window and there was nothing but blue skies so I went out ready to give out and there was Sean down on one knee with candles all around the garden and flowers and, the most beautiful ring. I was so shocked I don’t think I actually even gave him an answer other than shaking my head. It was so sweet and romantic….. and just perfect.

The first thing Megan did wedding planning wise was contact Christina to make sure she was going to be available – they didn’t even have a date officially set yet! She had to be sure Christina was going to be available,  as they didn’t want anybody else.

Christina mentioned the idea of doing an engagement shoot and we loved the idea, but we wanted to make sure we did something different. We put alot of thought and planning into it Christina and I spent weeks coming up with ideas and our theme, Sean just had to go along with what we wanted, he didn’t get much of a say!

Christina had become a really good family friend of Megan and Sean, and she had already captured some important moments for them.

She honestly is so amazing at her job, her ability to capture peoples personalities and the emotion in each picture is truely rare, she is a master of her craft and I cannot wait until our wedding as I know she will do such a wonderful job.

She even managed to find an old car we could use for the shoot which was so exciting such a beautiful car we didnt want to leave it!!

Sean and Megan’s wedding plans for this October seem to be falling into place pretty nicely. Continuing on from their vintage engagements session, they are going for a vintage theme with plenty of DIY elements from the cake to flowers and lots of other little surprises and treats in between.

I cannot wait for the big day now, I have been counting it down since the day we booked it , just over 20 weeks to go until I marry the man who really is the one and only Love of my life and my very best friend.

Save The Date Idea

Sean, who was a little shy in front of the camera should be well used to it after this mammoth engagement shoot!

  1. Christina says:

    Just a quick note. The photo with the newspaper (Donegal Democrat) shows a photo of a married couple on the front page. They are Megan’s grandparents who got married in New York in 1965. 🙂
